  1. my bike still is 10kg ;-( but then I am hoping to break 4 hours not three...
  2. up to 101... no exercise since Thursday and this week I have a business trip. Will have to discipline myself to visit the Hotel pool/gym...
  3. Sounds like you are a candidate for a yearly ticket.... I think mine cost 550 in october, certainly got the value out of it.... already ;-) I like the trail next to the fence parallel to the road where the entrances are, and the long snaking single track in the grass lands just before. I haven't yet ridden all the new single track because I have been going to Northern farms alot of late, also a great place to ride.
  4. I am up for it...
  5. that's why I have a rigid SS steel bike (and a hard tail 29r for slightly more relaxed days)
  6. LOL...... I must be a Wanker then............ of course we have all done stupid stuff...
  7. good proposal, and one that I could have used countless times here in Pretoria too. e.g. the time to drink (and therefore wobble a metre into the road is NOT when you hear a Diesel Landrover coming from behind... luckily a) it was a small street so I wasn't going fast, and B) I always give maximum clearance to cyclists... Other wise my Bullbar would have made a mess of said cyclist. We all complain about cars/trucks/taxis behaviour, but very often I see bad, stupid or dangerous behaviour from cyclists.
  8. I am not going to predict any more............ still 100kg... (even though between a 40km MTB yesterday and the xterra I burnt about 5000 Cal this weekend)
  9. you wouldn't be talking about me? would you...... don't worry when I have finished living in permanent calorie deficit (and am another 20kg lighter) we can talk again! Or was it the other 29'er (which is even heavier) you were talking about.....?
  10. 100kg this morning and doing the xterra tomorrow... should be in 2 digits by Monday
  11. hoping to break the 100kg barrier.... for monday
  12. Oh and the DR based there rode in the Epic the year before last..
  13. There is one with a practice in the Uni sport grounds near Hatfield, after 3 slipped disks (Car accident) she sorted me out name is Shane... haven't got details at work.. pm me and I will look them out!
  14. given its my first 'tri' I am planning on wearing my oldest = thinnest padding cycle shorts and a top of some sort... but then my main aim is to finish is there a cutoff time for the lite race
  15. Not just there..... in Pretoria too, my guess is its gonna be messy! does any one know if a course profile was published? I haven't found anything (of course I may be blind!)
  16. ok, I will aim at 1800.......... no worries if the rest of you turn up a bit later, its either being there or at work
  17. according to the DnD website it is 30km this evening 'mild to wild' I will be taking it easy today... no crazy downhills like I did last week on RUSH because I am doing the xterra on saturday, and I am already carrying some serious bruises and a stiff neck from the weekend rides in Groenkloof with the new Peace, realy didn't think 45mm longer handlebars would make me colide with the fence so often But I can be there by 18:15 no problem...
  18. Lights on charge..... haven't gotten round to cleaning my Bike though since last week so will be riding a dirty bike with a clean chain p.s. any further thoughts on the pre-ride idea?
  19. ummm, bigest thing I hate about being in Africa, SNAKES wish I hadn't read this post will try to forget, otherwise my annual ticket will become a very expensive piece of laminated plastic with no use at all...........
  20. 2 minutes by car and a bit more by bike from Groenkloof are a couple of cafe/restaurants just go to the fountains circle and head towards brooklyn.. on George storrar... Brooklyn design square is only a few minutes further too.
  21. I was getting alot of headaches until I switched energy drink.... they are more or less gone now I am using GI32...
  22. about the weight loss, or the number of bikes?
  23. its good for motivation..... I started a program aiming at sub 4 hour ARGUS which for me is realistic, and Fittrack thinks I can do that if I have a score of 50 the week before. My current score is more like 55 and climbing, slowly now as I am reducing my workouts before the xterra, but I hope I will be close to 65 or 70 by a week before the Argus (and 10kg lighter than now) and I would then expect to do it in 3:30 - 3:45 but we will see what the weather does. Maybe I should change to the program for sub 3:30 and see what it suggests I need to do? I have... seems I am on track for that too
  24. think there might be a typo on Cois's weight, seems he gained 9kg this week
