  1. I ordered my flak jackets from the states: Sunglasses International - they dont send to SA, so I set up a mail forwarding account with myus.com I got it a week after ordering, duties came to just over R400. UK prices not much better than SA, the states is the way to go.
  2. see you guys there, hope the weather is better than today
  3. See you guys there.
  4. Continental slick at the back, Maxxis wormdrive up front for Urban riding, used that setup when I was commuting to work in the UK...very fast and works really well. Worm drive wire bead feels quite heavy though, I think its discontinued but they got a bunch of other options now. Used the wormdrive at the back for a while doing the winter trails - that worked very well too, just less plush than a normal MTB tire, but it did expel mud well and made way for alot less rolling resistance.
  5. Im keen...will get some guys to join too.
  6. The 1st one ride was great, with none of the dangers mentioned above and was an excellent way of exploring JHB CBD. Hopefully we will be doing a longer ride at the next event, 10km didn't allow us to see enough of Joburg Town. Don't be afraid to join guys.
  7. We are keen, what would be the best time to ride there? In terms of safety? Over the past couple of months I have been reading up on incidents over there.
  8. Thanks, just mailed him.
  9. Does anyone know who services Rockshox in the Sandton or Gauteng area? Or even where I can purchase the parts. I have a Rockshox Tora U-Turn, I think its a 2006 model. The seals look a bit dodge, and the spring tensioner/cap just cracked. My LBS quoted me R400 + parts, which sounds a bit steep. Thanks Peewee1
  10. Wow! Did you steal it?

  12. Those bar ends are sweet, saw them yesterday at solomons, gonna get the red ones.
  13. What about using a piece of VPS protection film, or something similar? Thats the 3m stuff they use to protect the front ends of cars, and helicopter blades ...looks cleaner too, and no chance of sewage seeping in.
  14. At the end of the day, if you ride motorcycles as well, it should be the same as that(front on the right).
