  1. As this thread nears the 60k mark, can whoever makes the 60k'th post please ensure that it is in fact suitably EPIC?
  2. Perhaps it got locked after that and the great hub crash unlocked it.
  3. 6 Years ago....

  5. Found some blocks in the garage, was tired of my Fenix being dumped on the table next to the bed. iPhone needed to be in landscape for the CCTV (Old iPhone used as a monitor next to my bed). Not sure what the woods are but the "redish" one is very hard hence some tool marks in the center section that i need to still work on.
  6. Scrap that.... Wrong thread Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'm coming to visit tonight....
  8. P.S. Looks like its in stock now: http://www.creativeplay.co.za/LEGO-set-details.php?itemid=76031
  9. I have a running BSA 250FS (Think its a '68 from all the research i have done), not the most desirable in the range, but its still a classic'ish. You don't happen to have any jets for Mikumi carbs hanging around? I have 140-150 and 250, its too rich on the 250 and I think it may be too lean on the 150, probably needs something closer to the 180-200 mark. I've considered drilling the 140, not sure if that's a good idea though.
  10. Looks awesome G, I need to have a quiet word with that "Stretch" oke sometime.
  11. Keep in mind your phone still needs data coverage so warn them not to panic to quickly if you are stationary for too long until it gets signal again. Not sure what the coverage is like on B&B though.
  12. I think I might need a change of pant.... Making the assumption (I'm going to get flamed for this) that they are all legit? (I do know someone that seriously collects replicas) Another assumption is that they are your pension fund, ;-) Awesome collection Sir Richie! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Apparently when he the inventor of the USB port died they had to turn him over 3x to fit him into the casket. Edited for clarity.
  14. Seems they may be lathe chisels, not sure what makes them lathe specific though. I also got a drill powered lathe bed from them at the time, never used it myself, should perhaps clean up the workbench and try make something round.
  15. Seems i may have the tools that would benefit from a Pants Custom mallet, Went digging in the boxes of inherited tools and pulled out some, looks like there are 6-7 chisels, and what used to be a double pin gauge, now only has a single pin.
  16. Happen to watch Forged in Fire last night? They had to do a Scottish Claymore and the first guy's heat treatment sucked that his one bent on the first blow, he had given up when the second one was tested and although it penetrated as soon as it hit the solid stuff (a pig spine which was being used to test on) it shattered. They gave the first guy a chance to straighten his blade for the second test but would not trust the left over part of the over-heated one.
  17. #ThreadDeleted - Please re-raise the thread on the appropriate day of the week. Sorry Vets
  18. HI, I'm Bob, i'm a little..."challenged"....
  19. Did some googling, now understand the concept a little better, i was assuming the cuts were being made from the wrong angle, hence the failure to see how perfect corner could be made by a circular cutting tool. Need to go look at my inherited router bits and see what shapes and options I've got.
  20. I have one in a table but have not found a use for it yet, may need to dust it off and play with a few scraps. Also have an electric planer mounted upside-down on a steel base, that thing frightens the cr@p out've me every time i try use it.
  21. Heathen, here you had us all thinking you had some mad skills, Still would like to see how you get such sharp corners with a router.
  22. Same with the Copper pipe stuff, I quite like the industrial look but the wife is not that keen.
  23. Cant wait for the day my kid gets a project like that, perfect excuse to build a Trebuchet....
  24. My view on pallet projects is simple - just do it. They are fairly easy to get hold of, mostly free so if you make a mistake its no big deal. I've made a few odd items over the last couple of years - outside bench, airodeck chair etc, but all very rough (no measuring, eyeball mark I kinda stuff). What i like is you can leave it outside and not have to worry about expensive furniture getting the "weathered" look. Biggest issue is the time to split the pallets, crowbar + scissor style jack works quite well, or for smaller planks just chop off the ends with the nails.
