  1. Not uber old, but it's a Stanley and has a wood handle / brass bits, inherited it from my wife's grandad some years back, will do a refurb on it sometime, clean up the handle and blade.
  2. I'll probably be joining you, i have one or 2 that i fly around the back yard in the evenings, still enjoy the build process though, may as well start building another plane again.
  3. I don't have all the fancy pants suits and warmers like you pro guys. P.s. Well done in the time trials, ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. It cleared up nicely later in the day though, and the animals came out to chill in the sun.
  5. Ping @ Stretched@Birth
  6. Sold a few over the last 2-3 years since I (read: my wallet) took up cycling, my garage still looks like a hangar, guesstimating still around 15-18 Planes and 3-4 helis hanging in various forms. My one "favorite" was a model that was built on commission for a company in '82 for aerial photography (the days before drones), they flew it once and realized to get any sort of data from the photos you need to know speed, altitude, focal lengths etc in order to analyse the photos and parked it, I picked it up for a R500 donation to a charity in '08, made some small alterations to make it safer to fly but kept it mostly original. Largest i built from scratch using marine ply, meranti strips for spars and a mix of balsa / spruce was a 1/3rd scale Super Decathlon = 3.3m Wingspan running a 55cc Twin Petrol motor on it. Edit: Spelling
  7. I Suppose its still woodwork related, made from balsa and Spruce, and it flies. This was one of the last ones I made, only finished it a few months back, have not flown in a few years, cycling kinda took over and ruined my flying time.
  8. On the BA A380 the emergency exit from the "pod" is in front of seat 25D, 24D has no seat which means 25D has much more leg room.
  9. :ninja:
  10. Famous last words, lol... Had the tools out for the bunny hutch repairs, should make space for one of the table saws again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Will make a plan to come see you this week, probably bring you some beans to try as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hmmm, "unlike this"..... Lol, maybe next time you speak to them, ask if they know of somewhere in JHB that may do something similar?
  13. Where you based? would be keen if this is in Gauteng. Sounds like my kinda wood. I made one of the "adirondack" style chairs for outside, as well as a 2 seater bench, nothing fancy and certainly not display grade, but more quick and dirty, enough effort that they have lasted >2 years out in the sun and rain and are comfortable, but not enough that i need to worry about putting them indoors of it looks like rain.
  14. Sacrilege, whats wrong with it as a SS....
  15. Sunset at the top of Twin Towers, second ride in a very long time and still managed the "climb" without stopping, although i was on the 32eX42 which helped.
  16. And let's be honest, the cost of the wood is not a real reflection of the real world either. Cost up the wood as if it was a Hubber walking in and then see the real "value".
  17. Saw it on teeeter earlier, what frame is that B? Looking for something similar for a "project" one day, in a large, ;-)
  18. Who the freak is FCH... :-) Congrats Dude(tte)!
  19. Kinda thinking you're left with the Dremel option mentioned earlier, slow and carefully you will be able to cut it off.
  20. Damm Slowbee has been around way too long....
  21. Wrong thread, we prefer real coffee here.
  22. Lost a set of Oakleys like that as well, kids come first, good choice . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Rebar for a fork? Did you heat treat it? Who welded it up for you? :sorry: :-)
  24. I really hope 427 others like my post....
