  1. I'm in for the spruit ride tonight. 29er? Check Fast enough on my SS? I hope so. Lycra? We'll see..... HTFU? Obviously.
  2. I'd also like to know
  3. I'm not sure I would have entered the 50km race if I knew the route profile. Lol It was as tough as the VG or Hakahana marathons for me.
  4. The first climb was 12km to the very top - Cat 2. On my SS. It hurt! My strava ride: http://app.strava.com/activities/33641395
  5. The race was near Sedgefield. I did the 55km. A toughie it was! A huge climb at the beginning and very hot conditions made it physically demanding. The views were awesome and the route was generally in good shape and well marked. There was a bit of confusion where the route looped and overlapped a bit. I think I was the only single speeder in the 55km.
  6. Not enough spokes?
  7. And if you know that you've messed up as above, please crop your ride.
  8. The only one I have at the moment! It's been working well for me on the last few races, so I'll stick to it. I might train with a 18T to prep for the race though....... I'm off to Wilderness this Dec and will be attacking some proper mountains to build some strongs....
  9. I have no rigidity nor budget for any, and will run 32/19.
  10. I'll SS it if you will.....
  11. Inbred 29er.
  12. Vintage steel frame, Shimano 600 cranks, Tiagra brake calipers 42x18T Not yet ridden....
  13. If your 29er is a dual sus, check the rear suspension isn't too soft, causing the BB to drop too much....
  14. I need brakes please guys. Disc brakes, v-brakes and road brakes and levers. Anything you can donate will help me get bikes to those who need em. Thanks!
  15. You got the vision, you got the job...
  16. Haha, thanks! It's going to help protect the pedestrians on my commute from being run over by a low-flying SS
  17. Hey Dylan, I was in the store on the weekend - here's some feedback: (read: constructive criticism) Your cycling gear walls as you walk down the stairs on the right are a mess. It took me like half an hour to realise you didn't have what I was looking for. I would recommend you get someone to arrange the products by product type in a logical fashion i.e. Tools, pumps, lights, computers, spares etc. and make the displays less cluttered and easier to navigate - you have the space now! Stock: Your displays are full. Full of the wrong stock. For example: Brake pads. You only have Tektro in stock. What about us with Shimano or Avid brakes? Tools: You have chain whips, but no cable cutters. You have pedal wrenches, but no cone spanners. How about cutting down the number of brands (if you have to) and carry a larger range of products from a brand like Park Tools. Helmets: Giro have 5 off-road helmet models in their range. You carry 2......and why is the Xar R2000 in your store when the Giro list price on their own website $130? If you want cyclists to consider SW as a viable alternative to their LBS, all you have to do is carry the right stock, at the right price and let us cyclists know that you cater for us. It's really not that hard! Incidently, I chose to spend my birthday gift vouchers on running shoes and flip flops because there was nothing in the cycling section that I needed....oh, except the R20 bell for my Single Speed....
  18. Get some Shimano Deore or SLX or XT. Fit and forget, but love them every time you pull the lever.
  19. Happy Birthday to me - from me. Got the twin lens kit with 18-55VR and 55-200mm VR lenses. I finally have a real camera again. http://www.nikon.co.za/tmp/EU/2419865273/3760176746/2327365364/27184057/1391280926/2780083465/2389685182/843544204/3773263762.jpg
  20. Damn, just a pity it's a size too big. It's for my wife and she's 1.63m tall, so 18in wont work. Thanks anyways!
  21. Annyone have a small (16inch) white Inbred SS 29er frame lying about. On-One are out of stock and can't tell me when they'll have again.....and I need one. Yesterday!
  22. How was your 24hr?
  23. The descents were very tame compared to the Nissan Trailseeker race. Nothing hectic.
  24. I saw someone spraying "Spray and Cook" on his bike and wheels prior to the race start. Did this prevent the clay from sticking?
  25. Let this be a lesson to al out there.....hahahahahahaha!!!! Like I said before, I am super surprised how much pad life my brakes have left. Maybe it was the mud slowing me down and not my brakes! If I had ridden the entire course I am sure I would have logged a 8-hour ride.....
