The biggest advantage of a 27.5er is that you are completely immune to 26er and 29er riders ragging each other.

And no, you do not need a wider handlebar on a 29er. I'm running a 560mm bar straight from my 10 year old stripped down 26er.

1) If you can't turn the RD out far enough, you probably won't be able to pop the circlip to get take the mounting bolt out. I'm speaking if SRAM is the same as Shimano in that regard. 2) Nothing wrong with X9.

Probably bent the threads inside the hanger which is holding onto the RD now. You will have to take the hanger off with the RD attached, and somehow saw/file/cut through the hanger to get the RD out.
