  1. Sourced this from the same factory for a mate. Dogma clone I believe. Its super nice - being built up right now.
  2. Yep, got my frame from them. Couldn't be happier.
  3. Knockoffs. The "real" Pinarellos are made in the building down the street.
  4. I got the fix, given to me by ultra distance runners. Friars balsam. Hurts like a mother's love though. Pop the blister with a needle to and let it drain. Then take a syringe full of Friars, stick the needle under the skin and apply. It basically sticks the skin back on. Keep tissues handy.
  5. Probably not, but they are close enough that I won't be losing sleep. I know most Chinese frames use T700 carbon where some other "name brand" frames use T800, which is why the blanks are +/- 50g heavier for any given size because of the "older" tech carbon. I'm still of the opinion that the strength is very close if not exact.
  6. Hahaha, your post can be summed up on one word. "Butthurt". Look it up. You enjoy your bike, I'm enjoying mine and the spare cash I still got
  7. I use the work stickered to be disrespectful on purpose, thanks. I know what decals are. Funny how people would for instance see a Volcan as a quality product.... but diss blank Chinese frames. Notice how similar they are? Guess what. http://www.volcanbikes.com/images/bikes/2012_29er/2012_29er_2.jpg "The sad thing is these days as technology has plateaued more often than not the tools and new production processes are not really adding any value. New gimmicks are developed mainly for marketing purposes. Distinguishing the brand from competition is the only reason for coming up with the new three or four letter acronyms." http://inrng.com/2012/02/who-made-your-bike/ Either way, I have no need to justify my purchase further. I'm loving my bike, it works and was a steal.
  8. I know because its held up to everything I've been able to throw at it. Regarding comeback service, the people I do business with do offer that, but whether its for a year only or for life. How many times do you plan on breaking any given frame? Maybe once in its life, if that much? I paid R4100 for my frame, for that price I can afford to replace it 3 times and still have R1000 to spare, if compared to "stickered" frames. Regarding quality, you really think I didn't spend a long time reading MTBR Forums, comparing the different builds available etc? Between myself and a mate, we compared tube lengths and angles to all the common local bike makes, Scott, Momsen, Cannondale, Merida etc, and found the one with angles that matched our current bikes. So no, this purchase wasn't just made by looking at a 300dpi photo on a Chinese website. Yup, I'm banging my drum real hard.
  9. Rocking dude.
  10. How sexy is this UD Marble weave....? Again, why do you need to slap a sticker onto a bike...? Branded bikes is exactly what the word says, BRANDED, STICKERED. 99% of all carbon frames come out of the same district in China. I find it difficult to say that manufacturers hate me for saying that... because they didn't manufacure anything. The most they did was go for a factory tour and shook hands with a 5 foot tall Chinaman. They hype up the "brand" with perceived value and whiz-bang-BS and try to get it into your mind that their "brand" is the shiznit and you need to buy it. Use your brain.
  11. Forged a relationship with a supplier on Alibaba(.com), and I deal with them. http://jiyan.en.alibaba.com/ Speak to Judy. Its obviously not her real name, but they use Western names to make the buyer feel more comfortable. Either way. The mission is always to find someone that can speak and understand English well. She does.
  12. Why would you want to slap a sticker onto a work of art like this? Brand slut much?
  13. "Un-branded". I'm not paying R8000 for a sticker kit. Basically a Dogma clone, but unpainted. Just clean 3K carbon weave, glossy. We've got a few in town and they are working perfectly. Unbranded integrated carbon handlebars/stem, unbranded carbon seatpost. Unbranded carbon crankset (FSA clone) The only "Branded" part was a set of Alligator I-Links. I won't be fooled by going for a "brand" again. I took my 29'er through Baviaans, killed it down Bergplaas overtaking teams looking for parking. And she's in mint condition.
  14. That's hot.
  15. In the late 90's I was racing Nationals in Hilton, 1998 I think it was. We drove up from PE. I remember the race fondly, was seeded 1st on the line After the race was done, bike put onto the bike rack and everyone was showered, it was time for the prize giving. Afterwards we walked back to the cars. A mate's bike that was hanging right next to mine, someone stole his XT jockey clean off the bike. As you know, you can't take a jockey off without 1) breaking the chain or 2) taking at least 1 jockey wheel off to weave the chain out. The crook did all that and re-attached the chain nicely. So it must have been a cyclist with either a chain tool or set of allen-keys. What was strange though, is that my bike with XTR jockey was left alone.
  16. Is this on tv?
  17. I don't tackle something like the Trans Baviaans without at least half a roll of tape (insulation or otherwise) and 5 cable ties. Fixes anything.
  18. It also turns No No No into Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm
  19. Unfortunatelly, plenty shaky. I was really looking forward to the ride, got all my lights charged. But riding in rain/drizzle vs. slouching on the couch with the missus... easy choice.
  20. You okes are seeing the rain, né?
  21. http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?sc=51679 Looks ok for tonight still.
