  1. "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." (Edmund Burke)
  2. Why do you keep calling him a suspect?
  3. So why haven't you made plans to take the guy out? Won't bring your sister back, but damn if it were me I'd feel a whole lot better.
  4. This thread won't end well.
  5. I did the same thing one time. I saw that I would also hit the car (or the car would hit me) and gave one or two quick pedals and managed to JUST cross the path of the car with inches to spare.
  6. http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/Hit-and-run-man-commits-suicide-20120709 Lots of guys call him a coward in the comments. Got to agree, a coward. And then some people still try to defend him "imagine what he was going through". Shame. The only thing that was going through was a piece of lead, and that's the least he deserved. Good riddance, cyclists and runners everywhere are better off without his likes out on the roads.
  7. Forgetting that the image is reversed of course... http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/luolanjie2009/bontrager-seatpost.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/luolanjie2009/bontrager-seatpost-01.jpg http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/2/7/8/1/6/3/webimg/479747202_o.jpg http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/2/7/8/1/6/3/webimg/458049791_o.jpg You'll see the seat clamps on both these are the same. The Hylix ones are probably a copy of the Bontrager posts. I'm looking for a seatpost for my MTB, and was considering the Hylix one. My concern is this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5y0xsF8FVI Valid reason for concern, or you think this guy was just unlucky?
  8. Looks allot like the Michelin Wild Rock’R... So nothing overly revolutionary there. In the late 90's Michelin had another tyre that looked EXACTLY like the Conti one above, I might still even have one at home. Can't recall the name now though. http://www.adventure-journal.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/adventure_journal_michelin-WildrockR__2_470.jpg
  9. I wouldn't be over sad if LA goes down burning... Mr, I've Been Tested 1000 times. He musn't get off with a slap on the wrist.
  10. I'm sure there are some guys who are clean... but ja, on the other end the "fast" guys are probably just using little enough juice. For our own sanity we all like to believe that our heros are clean... but.
  11. And Lance and George are (I guess now were) huge mates. They came up through the ranks together. George is one of like 5 guys I respect, so if he says Lance doped, Lance doped. Same goes for Levi and Zabriskie. This is going to be a HUGE bubble that's going to burst around Lance's superhero image. I see him going from Hero to Zero in no time...
  12. I've thought of doing that myself once... Hey, if you got to get home... you got to get home!
  13. So why isn't Burry on a Pro road team then?
  14. I know crank length has nothing to do with it in terms of speed and RPM's etc. Its a case of leverage. When I got my first real MTB in 1998 it came with 180mm cranks, and I've been using them ever since. I did have 175's before that one bike came with 180's, but I'm not going to risk going back now.
  15. http://bicycling.com/blogs/thisjustin/files/2012/05/who-is-peter-sagan-profile1.jpg moer my gesig?
  16. For me, being cocky completely overshadows whatever talent he has. I don't care if he wins, if you act like a ****... then guess what...
  17. 50/50 I guess. For marathons I'm sure a 29'er must be better. On very tight XC races I usually gap 29'ers, but when the course opens up a bit they pull away again. But that's besides the point. For Trans, which is a road race on gravel it must be better... ...and when the pace is on, I'm gatvol of spinning my 26er out
  18. Cool... Flip, Ideally I'd love to get a 40x27 in a 180mm crankset. Seems impossible to get though.
  19. Shot, but I asked the opposite... 10 speed everything... on a 9s crank.
  20. I did that earlier today. The lowest gear on a 28x36 combo is slightly lighter than a 22x28 combo. BUT, given the wheel size, you have to add about 15% onto that, making it slightly harder than the 22x28 combo...
  21. That pretty much answers my previous question... If you can do that on a 38t, a 39t is a given. 42t might be too tall.
  22. China, my cart on CRC is sitting on R3601 already... I know its going to hurt. I would do 39x26... but find me that in a 180mm length? Hen's teeth... That being said, at a given RPM, does a 39x11 roll faster on a 29'er compared to a 42x11 on a 26'er ?
  23. Seems legit.
  24. I weigh 77-78kg at the moment, and as someone asked whether the person is a spinner or a grinder, I'm a grinder. Well, to be honest this thread has not really cleared anything up! I'm still in two minds. As most people I'm able to go up Bergplaas in middle ring on a 26'er, which is a 32t, and I think at the time I had a 34t at the back. So surely a 28t x 36t on a 29'er must be fine?
