  1. Sheldon Brown says you should tilt it forward as far as possible before you start sliding.
  2. Do not ever train with flu. You can irreparably damage your heart muscles. Homeopathic stuff does work but it aggravates the symtoms speeding up the process of healing (but making you feel worse). Stay off antibiotics - they are to prevent secondary infections and do nothing for viruses. PS - there is nothing a docter can do but tell you to rest, not train and give you antibiotics 'just in case'.
  3. "And opeing up in richman's neighbourhoods does not help either. I would like to see how long the Spez shop in Melrose Arch is gonna last." Went and checked it out - there are customers and they are buying. But that does not guarantee anything, I guess.
  4. " I walked into Solomons " You had to drive there first. CRC - click, click. (And lets not talk about stock availability).
  5. "titanium hydraulic tube" Now why does that sound like its going to set me back a few Sheckles?
  6. I have the exact same issue with gmail. I normally get it to work on the 5th try or so. My internet connection is perfect for all other purposes. Possibly quickly register a gmail address and send from there - it takes 3 minutes.
  7. A good front tire with more grip and less rolling resistance. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=19162
  8. Oops: forgot - you will probably want UST tubless tires and Stans/Joes (the Shimano SLX don't need rim strips - don't know about the Mavics). This will set you back over R1000 so you might want to reconsider not getting the fork. On second thoughts - the Fork might be 'over upgrading' your bike.
  9. Finally - I would consider this fork: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=54593 Forks are more difficult to install yourself so you will have to get a bikeshop to do it for you. Expect to pay them up to R300.
  10. Value for money I recommend this wheelset. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=30822 The description says not available outside the EU - if this is the case then buy Shimano SLX. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=40565
  11. Consider buying your upgrade parts from CRC or CWC online. You get free shipping from CRC on orders of R3000. You must pay inmport duty (bargain for 16%) from CRC. I would buy these brakes to make your money go further. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=31347
  12. I can see the mounts for disk brakes on your Dart. Good stuff. Check the back and we will take it from there.
  13. Hi Deftone. I have been through the whole upgrade thing. You need to be careful. You cannot just (say) upgrade to Disk Brakes as your fork and frame will need mounting points for this. Same thing with wheels. If you want to upgrade, take your time, do your research, speak to people who know. As a general rule for upgrading - concentrate on the following: 1st - Tubeless tires. 2nd - Better Wheelset - get a decent one and you can move it from bike to bike over the years. 3rd - Fork and/or frame. Avoid upgrading: -Drivechain - these wear out after a while anyway. -Disk brakes - they are better but not thaat much better in the dry. -Cockpit items - Saddles, Pedals, Grips, Bar Ends, Handlebars - these are luxaries especially if you don't do longer distances (more than 40kms).
  14. Waaaat! Surely we pay entry fee so these guys get paid? Especially on Sabie Classic? Are you sure you are not making this up???
  15. Ya well no fine. I get the same sort of things from every bike shop. It no longer upsets me. They are not selling Ferrari's and the margins are low so the whole personalised service thing kinda falls by the wayside. I must point out that you still got a good price - so no need to be too upset.
  16. Any chance of more info? Website? Type and length of trails? Cost?
  17. No. Did it two years ago. Expect a traffic jam for the first 5km.
  18. If they don't already, they should DQ reported litterers in races.
  19. What Vinny said: +1
  20. Specialized at Melrose arch do test saddles. I see you are a 143 (medium boned - ha ha) and Fiziks only come in one size while Spez comes in three.
  21. "Milko Balm.....8 days Trans Alps soft as a babies bum. Used for milking cows! Apply Benetts Baby bum cream after" How will you ever explain this to your non-cycling friends...
  22. "we ride almost everyday at least 60km+ MTB" Wow. How do you manage that (time wise, that is)?
  23. Milko Balm? Now what is THAT normally used for?
  24. Melk salf? What is its normally used for?
  25. This thread is going to 12+ pages!
