    GCN+

Correct. GCN detects IP and determines GEO location and then opens for that country. So one user on GCN is all you need and one account for your VPN provider. So in my case I always connect to VPN first to obtain other country IP (usually UK or US) and then open GCN which loads content based on country it detects (same as Netflix and other streaming apps).
  2. Yeessssssss!!!! Finally! Tx for letting us know!
  3. Whaaaaaaat??? That will be EXCELLENT!!!! I always preferred the 10AM start. Holding thumbs! Please let us know as soon as EcoBound gets back to you.

Yeah 100mbps should be just fine. Assume Speedtest.net shows you get close to that? I mostly watch on my PC and my Android TV player (like R1100) and use VPN on both when needed. Sometimes on VPN I get a few stutters/pauses but would say 99% of time it is near perfect.

Strange - The Giro is streamed on GCN in South Africa - i.e. you do not need to be connected to a VPN to watch. I watch the whole day every day and it is super crisp at least 1080p quality the entire time, no pausing at all. As you start it is blurry but within seconds jumps to full quality. What is your bandwidth? - yes I am spoiled running a 500Mbps fibre line.
  6. You can start anytime between 5AM and 7AM.
  7. Excellent - is this open to all or perhaps only for a competition route where sometimes routes are open only for that day? Can you download this as a GPX?
  8. Will definitely be part of my post ride cool down regime!
  9. Ah cool - was hoping there would be some route markers.
  10. Tubeless - FOR SURE! Probably need to do a slime top up prior to the weekend!
  11. Sheesh - I would not trust a tyre that had 5 nail size thorns in them. This could be an expensive outing if I need to replace tyres...which it seems is a fairly good possibility.
  12. Thank you - purely talking from never before riding there on a weekend away, and no idea how big reserve is - I assume getting "lost" not a risk?
  13. Hi all - will be spending a few days this weekend at Sondela Nature Reserve. Definitely keen on doing some lekka MTB rides. Checked their website and there are a few MTB trails jotted on a map - which I am sure you all agree cannot quite be followed whilst riding. I emailed Sondela asking if thee have route files (i.e. GPX files) I can download but no response yet. Has anyone done some rides at Sondela? (I assume an event route will include roads not open during a normal visit). Willing to send me some GPX files? Looking for any rides 20km+. Any feedback will be appreciated.
  14. Tx - BUT - I saw an earlier post stating (or seemingly alluding to) a LOT of corrugated dirt roads. If so - would a soft tail then not be a better option. I have done plenty Transbaviaans and many of those roads are badly corrugated and cannot see riding that on a hard tail. OUCH!!
  15. Was keen to ride and then saw this....really??? Are there "river" crossings or rather sewage crossings? Imagine that getting on your water bottle your drink from???
  16. Unless the router supports split tunneling, I would not run my VPN on the router and route all traffice via the VPN. It causes some frustrations in terms of websites/results if they all think you are in another country. Also - the reality is that VPN in principle route your whole house via another country and then back to your ISP. So you pay a price on speed - easily up to 40% slower. But if you run a VPN JUST for GCN - all is good as I do not need full speed for GCN. I want the rest of my house to run at "local" speed. So yes you can also run two routers, one with a different wi-fi running your VPN. But then again, I run ethernet where I can to get the most of my Internet connection. Wi-fi not always good in all rooms in the house.
  17. Yes - I have watched on multiple devices at the same time - never had an issue. Whether there is a limit I do not know.
  18. You are most welcome. Watched the whole race yesterday on GCN/VPN combo - flawlessly.
  19. Spot on - on my PC have NordVPN as a browser extension so literally run my VPN on my open browser window ONLY (GCN). Rest if my PC still runs my local network. And it is no effort at all - you click a button - that's it.
  20. I have GCN on my phone, tablet, media box, PC etc etc- wherever whenever I can watch cycling. Unlike DSTV that allows streaming to ONE device only (DSTV IS NOT WORTH IT)
  21. Yes - every event is recorded and you can watch it afterwards at any time. Even IF DSTV broadcats an event I still use GCN/VPN combo (VNP when needed) because the commentators are world class, know their stuff (mostly all ex pro riders) and there are NO ads!!! Oh and it is 1080P (not 720P like DSTV)
  22. Cradle Mountain Trophy – MTB & Trail Run Experience in Magaliesburg (mountain-trophy.co.za) Quick question: with this event now this coming weekend being a "gravel route", what exactly does this mean? The course (90km) will be fully on open provincial gravel/dirt roads? There will be no technical sections, single tracks as the route is now primarily for gravel bikes? Just would like to know what to expect...
  23. Is it me or are specific Schwalbe Tyres near impossible to get hold of... Am looking for Racing Ray 2.25 Super Race and Racing Ralph 2.25 Ralph Super Race and stock is near impossible to get. Will consider Super Ground as it in essence seems to be pretty much the same tyre except it is 30 grams heavier (duh) and offers a bit more protection. Right?? But again..stock!!! At least from the shops I looked at online (i.e. CycleLab, Evobikes, CWC).
  24. Will we have live broadcasts during the whole week? DSTV (ad ridden I assume) or via web?
