  1. I also wanted this choice. Good luck in finding a Rekon tyre! Maybe now there is stock but I could not find a 2.35 Rekon a few weeks ago..ANYWHERE! Settled on Aspen Race 2.35 Front and Rekon Race 2.25 back. Doing Sani next week so will see how it performs on some serious "switchy" single tracks
  2. Most of these notifications you can disable - so you can comment but would receive no notifications for other comments.
  3. Good point and I guess quite possible. Many of the people I follow or who follow me do run. I just don't and really get annoyed with the long list of running challenges I need to scroll through.
  4. 😟😭 - Tx! Guess it is a matter of time before we start seeing ads!
  5. I am a cyclist - not a runner, rower, climber, hiker - just a cyclist. Now every time I open Strava I have to scroll through pages of challenges for activities I am not interested in - specially running! Is there any way I can tell Strava to limit challenges to say - ONLY cycling?
  6. Same here - deeply and utterly annoyed - it is the same as Netwerk24 App - the app is riddled with ads - yet if you want to use you still pay - and still get hundreds of annoying ads! I will not pay for cyclingnews - sorry!
  7. My gut too thinks they may reroute parts onto district roads that have been destroyed/cannot be fixed - they too cannot afford more cancellations. It will be the end of many if they do (even if it is the last Joberg2C ever). We might miss some awesome sections but that is par for the course I guess. Let's see what happens. Holding thumbs!
  8. Exactly - spot on! And an additional thought - many homes including guest houses were affected - if not destroyed. Roads are gone! All of this cannot humanly be fixed within a month (or two weeks for Joburg2C). There is a lot to consider - it is so much more than just water flowing to the ocean.
  9. It is not about the water - 🙄 It is about trails/paths possibly completely and utterly destroyed by the water and the ability it fix by then. They are only human after all.
  10. Very much so...I hope organizers will communicate timeously.
  11. Wow - I have family in Ballito and the videos and pictures I receive exactly where they stay absolutely breaks my heart. Houses ..GONE! The damage is incomprehensible. My heart goes out to each and every individual affected! Holla Trails apparently is close to non existent - closed indefinitely. It makes me wonder if the Sani2C will continue? I can only assume most trails closer to the coast has been totally destroyed.
  12. Yup agreed - I have connected my PC to a 42" 4k TV in my pain cave! The FulGaz 4k Videos looks amazing. The big display is a pleasure - but I struggle to justify the price for a graphics card to get Zwift in 4K. I just do not think the difference in quality is worth the price. Looks like the cheapest card to give you 4K Zwift will be around R5k. Rest of my PC is fine specs wise.
  13. Read an interesting article today: Zwift on PC: The Ultimate Guide to Running Zwift at Its Very Best | Zwift Insider Graphics cards have unfortunately become ridiculously expensive. Prices have increased on avg 80% - 100% in last 16 months. I still use my very old GT 1030 and although I suspect the graphics can be better - I am happy. Probably better not to know what it could look like!
  14. Very very much appreciated. I am ordering right now!
  15. Tx a million - I had no idea the S just implies non titanium. I guess the ti version is a 1 or 2 grams lighter - not sure why on such a small component will they distinguish on backplates. Unless there is a better cooling affect on titanium?
  16. Still curious to see feedback on this one?
  17. Hi All - I am trying to source brake pads but for the life of me cannot find what I am looking for. What I can ascertain is the following: Shimano M9000 Callipers: Uses G04ti brake pads (metal) Shimano M9100 Callipers: Uses K04ti brake pads (metal) (what I have on my bike) Are these brake pads the same size as I simply cannot cannot find anywhere anyone that stock K04ti brake pads (metal)? I seem to be able to find lots of G04ti (M9000). It does look like they are different sized and thus not compatible. Correct? Where can one source these? I am always very hesitant to take "non Shimano" pads - On brake pads you take the best!
  18. Ok sounds logical - but you also sound like someone that likes to descent with the pros 🤣 Me - I am just a mere mortal that prefers sound reasoning above being a kamikaze pilot. I prefer finishing in the mid bunch..and I am not on the lite side (88kg). Hope that this does not affect me.
  19. I have finally opted (after reading "millions" (sure feels like it) of views and opinions.) I guess there is not exact right/wrong) I have 25mm RIMS 2.35 Ardent Race Front (EXO/3C), 2.25 Rekon Race Rear (EXO). Total price R1230 for set (versus R1200 for one Schwalbe). OK - this is my LBS personal price for always supporting them. Now only time will tell. First time I will use this combo
  20. Yes - It is a very decent watch and fulfils most of one's need for every day use. My wife has one and is extremely happy. However....If you have any intention of using the Venu 2 on a Smart Indoor Trainer - be aware! It is limited in what sensors it can pick up. In many advanced smart trainers the power/cadence gets broadcast on a single bluetooth channel. The Venu 2 is not capable of detecting such sensors. You will pick up the trainer's speed and distance etc - but will miss power/cadence. Not a shortcoming that will bother many people - but just so you are aware. Battery life is fairly decent - about 5-7 days for my wife between charges and she trains about 3-4 times a week. Screen is a beauty! HR sensor very accurate although you must remember like any other watch - it is always recommended to use a dedicated HR strap for outdoor/training use. Everyday wear - it is spot on! Also - the Venu 2 has (in my opinion) a nicer/cleaner user interface (widgets/glances )than the more fancy Epix 2 (which I have).
  21. Agree I think - A 2.35 tyre will sit differently and touch surface on a 25mm vs 30mm rim - right?
  22. Wait until until your son/daughter starts joining the more serious cycling age and wants to everything you are doing - now just not your own costs anymore 😢 The Sani is costing me a small fortune! BUT---to have the honour and privilege of doing it with my son for the first time....PRICELESS!!!!!
  23. I think I am down to: (Scwhalbe at R1.2k per tyre just too expensive - and I need 4) Maxxis Ardent Race 2.35 front, Ikon 2.2 rear ...or... Maxxis Ardent Race 2.35 front, Ardent 2.25 rear ...or... Maxxis Ardent Race 2.35 front, Rekon Race 2.25 rear
