  1. Still curious to see feedback on this one?
  2. Hi All - I am trying to source brake pads but for the life of me cannot find what I am looking for. What I can ascertain is the following: Shimano M9000 Callipers: Uses G04ti brake pads (metal) Shimano M9100 Callipers: Uses K04ti brake pads (metal) (what I have on my bike) Are these brake pads the same size as I simply cannot cannot find anywhere anyone that stock K04ti brake pads (metal)? I seem to be able to find lots of G04ti (M9000). It does look like they are different sized and thus not compatible. Correct? Where can one source these? I am always very hesitant to take "non Shimano" pads - On brake pads you take the best!
  3. Ok sounds logical - but you also sound like someone that likes to descent with the pros 🤣 Me - I am just a mere mortal that prefers sound reasoning above being a kamikaze pilot. I prefer finishing in the mid bunch..and I am not on the lite side (88kg). Hope that this does not affect me.
  4. I have finally opted (after reading "millions" (sure feels like it) of views and opinions.) I guess there is not exact right/wrong) I have 25mm RIMS 2.35 Ardent Race Front (EXO/3C), 2.25 Rekon Race Rear (EXO). Total price R1230 for set (versus R1200 for one Schwalbe). OK - this is my LBS personal price for always supporting them. Now only time will tell. First time I will use this combo
  5. Yes - It is a very decent watch and fulfils most of one's need for every day use. My wife has one and is extremely happy. However....If you have any intention of using the Venu 2 on a Smart Indoor Trainer - be aware! It is limited in what sensors it can pick up. In many advanced smart trainers the power/cadence gets broadcast on a single bluetooth channel. The Venu 2 is not capable of detecting such sensors. You will pick up the trainer's speed and distance etc - but will miss power/cadence. Not a shortcoming that will bother many people - but just so you are aware. Battery life is fairly decent - about 5-7 days for my wife between charges and she trains about 3-4 times a week. Screen is a beauty! HR sensor very accurate although you must remember like any other watch - it is always recommended to use a dedicated HR strap for outdoor/training use. Everyday wear - it is spot on! Also - the Venu 2 has (in my opinion) a nicer/cleaner user interface (widgets/glances )than the more fancy Epix 2 (which I have).
  6. Agree I think - A 2.35 tyre will sit differently and touch surface on a 25mm vs 30mm rim - right?
  7. Wait until until your son/daughter starts joining the more serious cycling age and wants to everything you are doing - now just not your own costs anymore 😢 The Sani is costing me a small fortune! BUT---to have the honour and privilege of doing it with my son for the first time....PRICELESS!!!!!
  8. I think I am down to: (Scwhalbe at R1.2k per tyre just too expensive - and I need 4) Maxxis Ardent Race 2.35 front, Ikon 2.2 rear ...or... Maxxis Ardent Race 2.35 front, Ardent 2.25 rear ...or... Maxxis Ardent Race 2.35 front, Rekon Race 2.25 rear
  9. Let me read a few reviews - tx!
  10. Are you saying take the Rekon Race 2.4 over the 2.35? Is that a good idea on a 25mm width RIM?
  11. I thought so too...then...... Interesting that Maxxis website rates the Ardent Race to have better cornering capability (and by that I assume grip) than the Ardent
  12. I somehow got the idea it is the new flavour of the month - now if they can just drop the price!! But Maxxis does have a very good track record!
  13. Think rekon race is prefect for back but am a little worried about grip in front...perhaps the 2.35 front will be better than the 2.25 grip wise?
  14. Ok...I am nervous even typing this message. This is a topic discussed and debated to death and I am scared by commenting I must just get a smack like Chris Rock got from Will Smith! I cannot seem to find any recent threadS so took a bold decision jus to highlight it again...BUT...with some limitations (if I may ). I am doing Sani2C and looking for a good set. BUT..(yeah there will be a few BUTs) it does seem we are not that spoiled for choice anymore. It looks stock shortages leads to a.. "take what you can get" between Schwalbe and Maxxis mostly. My current MTB came factory fitted with Schwalbe Racing Ray EVO 2.25 SnakeSkin (Front) and Racing Ralph EVO2.25 SnakeSkin Rear. Have plugged my rear wheel a few times already in normal trail rides so have lost a bit of faith in them (and darn they are expensive). So let's briefly focus on Maxxis. What do you recommend (front/Rear/Width on 25mm rim). You cannot get Maxxis Rekon anywhere. So how about: Ardent Race 2.35 Front, Ardent Race 2.25 Rear? Ikon 2.35 Front, Rekon Race 2.25 Rear? Ikon 2.35 Front, Ikon 2.25 Rear? I am on the heavy side (88kg+) and NOT a race snake! - so let's consider that. Let' me have your best attempt at abuse for bringing this up...!! 🤣
  15. Tx! Did a Nissan race at Buffelsdrift many years ago - haven't been back since. Still have the scars to show! 🤣
  16. Oh the MacNaartjie Machine! No sympathy from me buddy! ☠️ Get Intel and an old 2005 P3 running Windows 8 and it will likely still run Fulgaz perfectly 🤣
  17. What is MBP? Something does not sound right. I do not think FulGaz uses or requires a graphics card at all (unlike Zwift). You have a few choices: 1. Stream whilst riding with HLS switched off (i.e. it will stream the video quality you select 720P/1080P/4k). The slower your internet speed, the lower quality you must select. If you select too high a quality for your internet speed - video will likely pause often to buffer. 2. Stream whilst riding with HLS enabled (aka Netflix mode. It will attempt to stream at the video quality you select but if your internet speed is too slow, it automatically downgrades the quality to something your bandwidth can handle). 3. Download video at the quality you want and let PC play it whilst riding (i.e. no internet needed) You can run FulGaz in a fairly mediocre system and it should run fine.
  18. Wow - super nice of you!! There are really still some awesome people in the world! Me and my son doing Sani2C together so I was thinking we need some more Oemph (aka distance). Thinking of doing the 54 or 68km ride at NF this Saturday. Go BIG or go home right?
  19. Tx! - I think their longest route is about 33km right?
  20. Awesome - seems NF is a good option for this Saturday!
  21. Again do not forget FulGaz! Not focussed on big social rides with other users but great software and great videos (A LOT!!) And they were acquired by IronMan (BIG company that also owns the Cape Epic)
  22. Tx for the feedback so far - very curious about any recent rides at Northern Farms - I recall having a nice 60Km+ trail there but since I haven't been there in a very long time I am hoping some recent opinions can be shared.
  23. Hi All - I have not been to a bike park in quite a while. Over the last couple of months we have seen a tremendous amount of rain in the Pretoria area so was wondering in what condition some of our bike parks are. I am going to pick a few trails and list criteria I think is important to me and ask that you rate out of 10, but please feel welcome to add anything. Please do not rate if you also have not been to these parks in months - asking for a more recent experience. Northern Farm (point out of 10) Safety: Track/Trail conditions (on longer routes): Dry/Muddy (0 = very dry, 10 = quite a few muddy sections): RedBarn (point out of 10) Safety: Track/Trail conditions (on longer routes): Dry/Muddy (0 = very dry, 10 = quite a few muddy sections): Wolwespruit (point out of 10) Safety: Track/Trail conditions (on longer routes): Dry/Muddy (0 = very dry, 10 = quite a few muddy sections): Hennops (point out of 10) Safety: Track/Trail conditions (on longer routes): Dry/Muddy (0 = very dry, 10 = quite a few muddy sections): Buffelsdrift (point out of 10) Safety: Track/Trail conditions (on longer routes): Dry/Muddy (0 = very dry, 10 = quite a few muddy sections):
  24. Same here - but switched to FulGaz. Yearly subscription and allows for an extra rider FOR FREE. So me and wife rides on one subscription. Tons of 4k Routes. Linked PC to a TV - BEAUTIFUL
  25. And you took the win??🤣
