  1. And other cyclists. You ride like a twat today, that driver develops a hate for cyclists and then like a twat takes it out on somebody innocent tomorrow, making the original cyclist and the driver both twats.
  2. Asking cyclists to be more considerate to other road users is not victim blaming. Nobody here has blamed any cyclist for getting themselves killed. Labelling the plea for cyclists to be more considerate as victim blaming is a distortion of the request. Simply put, we are not going to change motorist behaviour positively by acting like inconsiderate 'rich hobbyists who think they are better people simply trying to get to work', but we can change OUR own behaviour. This behavioural change might not immediately decrease the number of deaths, but changing motorist attitudes towards cyclists positively is better than confirming the perception that we own the road.
  3. Ok, so if its makes no difference being inconsiderate or considerate when you cycle, why not er on the latter and be a positive contributor to society.
  4. No they don’t kill drivers, but that does not mean that their behaviour shouldn’t improve. The killing of drivers is a pretty drastic yard stick to set for behaviour correction. One can ride defensively AND be considerate at the same time.
  5. Nothing is an absolute, so the statement is already false. While there are many reasons that contribute to the attitude/behaviour towards cyclists, and you right in your bullying example, but to simply say that cyclists behaviour bears NO impact in the attitude towards them is false. One could argue that inconsiderate behaviour by cyclists contributes little to the deaths of cyclists by motorists, and I would agree, but this is a separate point to the one that I was making about the perceived issue that road cyclists own the road and should be subject to a motorist scorn. In no way ever should a cyclists behaviour be used to justify their death.
  6. There is, you are right. Its when there is consequence for bad behaviour that behaviours change.
  7. Make no mistake, cycling has a branding issue. Its been like that for some time. A few years ago a fellow hubber, BDF, and I tried to run a "Considerate Cyclist" campaign. It was all about improving our behaviour to improve attitude towards cyclist. Sadly though, he was killed while riding before we could finish it all.
  8. Yes it is. The majority is becoming more inclusive and equal. This needs to be acknowledged. But there will always be hate on both sides at the fringes, some misogynists and racists masquerading as rationalists, and the retribution seeking woke leftists masquerading as progressives.
  9. That pretty ***. Can I edit what the Mods say?
  10. I hope Caleb and Sagan have kissed and made up.
  11. So basically Pauline stopped into Jolanda... ????
  12. Sure I'll ping you. But I am not the person who needs to see what the parameters of acceptable are, as I didn't make the comments. There are obviously other user here who need to see what is acceptable or not on this forum and who need to understand the rules by which the new hub are governed by.
  13. Good, we need to work on improving. As a point of interest and calibration, what comments were considered inappropriate?
  14. So basically Jolanda is justified in being annoyed at her own assumptions?
  15. I hate to break it the man pictured in the article, he has voided his warranty!
  16. If anybody has a legit excuse to quit their team, it’s the SA waterpolo goalie.
  17. Double shot flat white, watching the bokkies during a quick spin between meetings ???????? Balance is the key!
  18. Mate, I don’t know if you had the same Zwift advert over and over and over and over and over during the Tour. MvdP was on his Zwift more in those adverts than he was at the Tour.
