  1. just think, this all could have been avoiding by using BSC....
  2. i've yet to have a Edge device make it out of warranty without needing a replacement. 510, 520 and 530. in total 4 times with those devices i've since moved on to Hammerhead Karoo 2 - about the same price. the key difference is the warranty is double that of Garmin. 2 years vs 1 year. the live track is not as good on the Karoo - it sends out an email ONCE went first setup, and never again. so your loved ones are never informed you have left on a ride and instead need to track down an ancient email to actually follow you. this is the only reason i would recommend Garmin over the Karoo
  3. Another own goal by JHB government. sorry to hear about this - seems insane they can raise all those points when the river itself is polluted beyond rehabilitation.
  4. Use this. would be interesting to see what pressures you get. my bets are at least 1 bar lower in pressure https://axs.sram.com/guides/tire/pressure
  5. Not sure i like this link... it totally omits the rims inner width which has a huge impact on tire volume. gave me figures for 28mm higher than max inflation figures for my zipp wheels. i'd rather use the zipp calculator - seems more comprehensive
  6. have any details on the perp? Bike brand, helmet colour, club gear? def use strava - you should be able to pin point the group pretty easy and then use any of those contact to try get further info
  7. Hi All, our emails had a DNS issue that caused them all to not direct the right way. Lanoysports email address is now once again up and running. sorry about any issues!
  8. pay the extra money - all news XC bikes are moving to 120mm.
  9. how about and Aurum Magma?
  10. i'm not to bothered, its the reason i use bikehub pay. to protect me from odd balls. i think the seller was hopelessly ignorant about how bikehub pay actually worked and no matter what i said he had no interest in actually reading up about how it worked. i did leave a 1 star review to warm others about his manners
  11. is there any form of repercussion to those who accept bikehub pay deals then instead of shipping the items they sell them elsewhere? i know i'll get my money back but that just poor form from the seller. this just happen to me. more bizarre is my offer was in line with asking price.
  12. Haha - Hambini correctly calls them Pirelli ditch finders 🥸 also heard a few colourful comments from Poga about them on TV
  13. cough cough - orangeseal? expensive. but you get what you pay for
  14. Fair enough. might not be fast, but so far they have been brilliant at puncture resistance for the money. a good training tire? - maybe not an option at the new pricing. I have not tried the Hutchinson as yet. i have a set of their 28mm Fusion 5s on my Zipps(25mm inner) they blew out to 32mm once installed. simply massive. going to give them a test and see how things go - not cheap tires though. i expect at 32mm they are going to be very slow
  15. just another totally off topic note. the graph above - are people still running 7 and 8.3 bar pressures!?
  16. Thats a good deal at R800, provided you are running hooked rims. Where is that available and is that for 28mm version? keep in mind most stores are shelling these off to buy in the newer version 5000 S TR that is compatible with hookless rims. the 5000TL version is not compatible with the latest wheel design. fair enough about the hijacking of a thread - i was hoping to give people a cost effective option when gonig tubeless. nothing more. my favourite tire is still the GP5000 tires, they are stunning as they have puncture protection and great rolling resistance. my issue is paying more than the cost of a tire for a small car for a bike tire, and then having that tire fail early on due to a tire gash from glass on JHB roads. its expensive to run R1400 tires when you only get 3000km on them and have to turf with plenty tread on them due to a glass cut
  17. We have the last 2x Goodyear Eagle F1 28mm tires in tan colour available to sell at R700 a tire. PM me to get this deal. We will likely not keep these in stock going forward as costs have nearly doubled - it was only a matter of time. These tires were far too good to be that cheap for long. as it stands they will now price out closer to mid/top end tires.
  18. pity about not having those aero shields on the bikes - they would have been uber quick with them
  19. i'm gonna be honest - i flat out forgot... i will post pics of the final build though... sorry!!
  20. So i had fun putting together a Top of the line Aurum build the last few days. Aurum Magma Sram Red AXS Zipp 353 wheels Ritchey Carbon parts and some chubby 28mm Fusion 5 tires Build came in at 6.72kgs (ex cages, sealant, and pedals) but includes batteries. add generous portion of orangeseal sealant and it would still be under 6.8kgs very happy with the result!
  21. can i interest you in a Aeroadmountgravcx bike?
  22. At the risk of catching huge flak - I think this bike would be better named the “she/him”or the “non-binery” or maybe the “transgender”. its very confused - but each to their own. if it’s happy leave it be - wait. She/him? Shim? now I’m confused. you get the picture
  23. 100% the spark. its great
  24. I'm really trying but i cannot warm up to this. its hideous. its like a Felt, Merida and Cervelo got freaky with Microsofts AI chatbot and created something the laws of nature is uncomfortable with. or maybe just my eyes are uncomfortable with. that Reparto Corse on the DT - looks like a cheap Chinese brand it has lost all its Italianess - maybe a good thing? the Bianchi Specialisma has Italian deliciousness to it - its gorgeous. this... eek.
