  1. This could work. My only problem with a low-down (to see instead of to be seen light) is that the bumps and holes in the road are not seen too easily. It is possible to misjudge the depth in the wee hours of the night. Just what I have experienced,....... I have tape on my touring rims and it certainly cannot be seen from a riding position.
  2. Agreed. Seems to be poor quality of the silicone
  3. I had a whole bunch of old Knogs lying about and put one at the frame so they could reflect off the ankle bands and pedal tape. Did a test with a car driver and he said DEFINITELY easier to be seen. I am not talking flashing here but constant. Any color works for me.
  4. Yup, you can buy them locally. Not sure where I got mine - Sportsmans? Can also get these "anklets" with lights in them! Certainly not me thanks.
  5. Misty conditions and you have to ride? - White at the back as it is seen from further away....illegal I know but self preservation is important.
  6. 3M reflective tape on leading edge of cranks. Amongst all your lights, throw a blue flashing light in there. Helmet reflection, heel reflection, Ankle bands are mandatory One small band of reflective tape on the wheel rim - inside to outside of about 50mm. Strobe effect works well. Reflective patch on rear of glove - works well when you put your hand out to show your presence. Small light on bike on lower seat tube facing forward - illuminates the moving rider and reflects off all the tape. No black (non reflective) colours.
  7. Next time you come out bring several with you. They sound like the bomb. I will definitely take one off you.
  8. Good thinking. Can never have enough lights.
  9. Black is not a colour. It absorbs all the light and reflects nothing plus it is hotter than the lighter colours. Rather be seen out there. Thanks for the Bump Dale, certainly keeps me aware out there.
  10. Can't get in Durban so I too will happily accept "off-sales" or reject kit. Factory seconds will be very handy.
  11. Oh wow. It starts that young does it? Great news this. Now I feel she may deserve all clothes she ever may want forever and ever.
  12. If thats the colour I will be invisible on my bike!
  13. The bug is always there Fanie, it keeps on biting. The only way is to knock it off.
  14. My bike is fine. Too slow and not enough miles this year. Did a 400km through the night last month and I am still recovering! Needed to see if I was up for the challenge but failed dismally as the dragons never let up. Prefer the dot watching at this stage thanks.
  15. The Not so Fat Anymore One already has a lekker bike and is a serious contender. My guess is he will not be needing a new bike?
  16. Pity this. Quite fancied your products though. I used to get them from the little shop at Moses Mabhida and then all stock was withdrawn.
  17. My turn this year. Seem to fall too much these days. Sosaties, meatballs, sweeties and beer - Def going to come a cropper!
  18. Just there for the fun of it and to see some old mates. Going to be great fun.
  19. Many thanks Fanie. Driving down Friday and returning Monday and recovering for the rest of the week. Only have a cross bike so it will have to do.
  20. Leave in and approved.
  21. I am definitely going to ride this thing. Come Hell or High Water. Putting in for leave now. Entries only open in October though. Have to do it for fun.
  22. Nice one Bogus. Good lad you are!
  23. Been there, done that. Was in the proper pie the next day.
  24. Perfectly done.
