Did you buy those socks?!!!! I mean actually pay money? Joh Warren, something must have happened to you during your visit to the other side.
  2. 1000 likes! And you can use it off the bike too.
  3. This sounds and looks about right to me. Cannot ask for more? 2000 up front...Wow! Nice. I think it is cool to be seen and visible and not so cool to be unseen and ride without lights. Just my opinion.
  4. You should have given me a shout when in Durbs?

To buy what? You worry me Warren. I suggest you talk to somebody!
  6. Bitus gabonica rhinoceros - Gaboon Adder only found in Africa. Not in the States but the Yanks call anything with a horn a viper. Highest venom yield out of any snake in Africa. East African version does not have the horn - very rare.
  7. Thanks Ed, put me and my colleagues out of their misery.
  8. Nay master, can't see a damn thing. We have these at work so know what to look for. Photoshopped maybe...............? Blind as a bat me and have done tracking in Nkurunkuru! Still looking.............(This is not ending well)
  9. Damn, I am still looking. Got me going now. Where is the thing? Friday joke or are things a little slow at the office today? I am in no rush but I don't think I can stare for much longer.

At R30 a pop I will take whatever colour if they they fit my feet. I go through socks really fast so would be looking at 10 - 15 prs. Now just to find the peak for my MTB helmet so I can look the part. With these sort of socks I may just change into a fashion cyclist. Oh, and I would need to colour code my saddle bag.

PQ???? Do they have much stock available?
  13. Nice Spokey. Like the bike rack and suspension stem.
  14. Brooks is the only saddle which was comfortable for me from the moment I fitted it. Maybe I was lucky but it is the only saddle for me. Failing which, if I ever have to go the Deanbean route I will switch back to Rolls. Nice job Deanbean and good to know they can be salvaged with parts available locally.
  15. Be prepared to have a jol. Very lekker place indeed. (Some people are old but still ride bikes and some even do the FC)!!!
  16. Good man Dale.
  17. I tend to agree and will go with this.
  18. As long as the leg extension is correct, cleat position, seat angle and fore/aft position of the saddle then it does not matter what it looks like. How do you know if this is correct? Go to a fitter or unless you are experienced enough,
  19. Thanks Slowbee but I can be difficult if I am crossed! Just thought of paying it forward and getting guys touring. (Not many are better than you with your fire fighting skills) It is a Topeak rack which I am not planning to use as I have the Old Man and Thule racks and bags. I have a set of Lotus bags in good condition with rain covers which I have just fitted to the rack and all seems good but I may ask for a few bob for these. They are too big for my needs.
  20. Hi Neville What fixing points does your bike have for a rack? I have one you can have, if it can be fitted correctly on your bike. If I may add, it is not a good idea having "made a plan" to fit a rack when things go pear along the way. Then you are in the dwang, properly.
  21. Only three or four? I have a multitude of lights and back-ups interspersed with a white light when things get too hectic. I find a white light on the back also helps. Illegal or not, I will use it and I can honestly say, as I have said previously, the brighter the rear lights are, the wider the birth you are given by vehicles = narrows the risk. Front need/must not be as bright because you are NOT on the trails. Just enough to see where you are going and the brightest lights upset and creates confusion with motorists when not set decently/respectfully. I think it should be compulsory for riders to ride with lights and clubs should insist on it! I still see the jet black cool, invincible, organ donors riding at dawn with NO lights.
  22. Got mine at Sportsmans. Naleni also make them.
  23. Have also stuck strips of 3m reflective yellow tape on the the forward and rear facing narrow sides of my cranks. I have been told this is very visible from the rear while pedaling. (This was from a motorist who stopped and passed comment on my visibility and said he wished all cyclist would make themselves more visible) As Carbon said, the removable strips around the ankles also work in the dark.
  24. Done. Also the sew on tape is available - done.
  25. Yes, quite right. Don't need all the chargers anymore and I have an USB port on the dynamo so I am sorted. Just portable light for cooking and repairs so I take it anyway. Nothing worse than having to make a call/photo and you run out of battery. Actually I can, not quite making it to the lav and having a fear of standing in .....oh, nevermind.
