  1. I am sure you have seen the tag, release and subsequent monitoring of the sharks in the Breede. They go out to sea and return on the next tide. The tracks and actual wearabout of the sharks are frightening. If they were hungry there would have been some attacks (many) during the monitoring period.
  2. Nice Vettes. Very nice! Munga busta if I ever saw one. Best of luck.
  3. Good to keep the Mojo going! Nice bike by the way, the colour is fantastic. Smaak it stukkend.
  4. Def early 70's!!!!
  5. Thanks Hairy. Never seen this before and I thought I have seen most. (Post of the week!)
  6. I still have a little moment when this does happen.

    Who remembers?

California, doing the same as he did here except making more money than he did here. Last I heard.
  8. So much truth and courage in the last couple of posts. It is a privilege to be able to relate to the pain and suffering you all went through. Well done again to all who crossed the line.

    Who remembers?

The PYT's had no chance at that place!

    Who remembers?

I actually remember going there in '75 and was fortunate enough to have the Rag princess as my date. Needless to say, I did not know she was on the pull so we went home in separate vehicles. Those prices were expensive but with a hottie it can sometimes be worth every cent!~
  11. Nicely done Stretch. (and the other guys on the Hub)
  12. (Thanks Dale.) Instead of wearing fancy kit and having the fanciest gear in order to draw attention to yourself, why not try the light thing? Just saying
  13. Definitely going to try and make it this year.
  14. This sounds and looks about right to me. Cannot ask for more? 2000 up front...Wow! Nice. I think it is cool to be seen and visible and not so cool to be unseen and ride without lights. Just my opinion.
  15. Bitus gabonica rhinoceros - Gaboon Adder only found in Africa. Not in the States but the Yanks call anything with a horn a viper. Highest venom yield out of any snake in Africa. East African version does not have the horn - very rare.
  16. Thanks Ed, put me and my colleagues out of their misery.
  17. Nay master, can't see a damn thing. We have these at work so know what to look for. Photoshopped maybe...............? Blind as a bat me and have done tracking in Nkurunkuru! Still looking.............(This is not ending well)
  18. Damn, I am still looking. Got me going now. Where is the thing? Friday joke or are things a little slow at the office today? I am in no rush but I don't think I can stare for much longer.
  19. Be prepared to have a jol. Very lekker place indeed. (Some people are old but still ride bikes and some even do the FC)!!!
  20. Only three or four? I have a multitude of lights and back-ups interspersed with a white light when things get too hectic. I find a white light on the back also helps. Illegal or not, I will use it and I can honestly say, as I have said previously, the brighter the rear lights are, the wider the birth you are given by vehicles = narrows the risk. Front need/must not be as bright because you are NOT on the trails. Just enough to see where you are going and the brightest lights upset and creates confusion with motorists when not set decently/respectfully. I think it should be compulsory for riders to ride with lights and clubs should insist on it! I still see the jet black cool, invincible, organ donors riding at dawn with NO lights.
  21. Got mine at Sportsmans. Naleni also make them.
  22. Have also stuck strips of 3m reflective yellow tape on the the forward and rear facing narrow sides of my cranks. I have been told this is very visible from the rear while pedaling. (This was from a motorist who stopped and passed comment on my visibility and said he wished all cyclist would make themselves more visible) As Carbon said, the removable strips around the ankles also work in the dark.
  23. Done. Also the sew on tape is available - done.
  24. Yes, quite right. Don't need all the chargers anymore and I have an USB port on the dynamo so I am sorted. Just portable light for cooking and repairs so I take it anyway. Nothing worse than having to make a call/photo and you run out of battery. Actually I can, not quite making it to the lav and having a fear of standing in .....oh, nevermind.
