  1. Would have to measure that, would depend on tread and casing thickness, even tyre shape
  2. Or in my case even on the downs, but feel it would be even worse if they were zooming between the guys doing 7 hours, not 3:30
  3. Honestly, can’t think of a good place to put them, early on, then they help other people, later on I feel like it would be dangerous as now you’ve got inexperienced people on powerful machinery racing between people that already aren’t necessarily comfortable on a bike
  4. Was in 2D, don’t have too much of an issue with them pulling people along, but going 30kph up a climb is just dangerous, also almost got knocked off my bike, doing 60kph down the hill just before Edinburgh, some idiot comes flying past on an e-bike doing prob close to 80kph, also narrowly missing people in front of me, how can this be allowed? Being pretty pissed off at this point it fortunately only got better further on💪, although I mostly did ride on my own due to not feeling super comfortable in bunches (Last road ride was 2022 CTCT).
  5. Seems to be R180, but also cannot be compared to the Sedge 500, as thats mostly offroad, gravel roads, the audax looks to be a lot bigger event, road only. I have no clue how they work, but seems its all just completely on your own, more of a challenge event than a race.
  6. This is a pretty niche race, its not targeted at many people, not sure how many people CAN ride 500km. I think the one last year had 19 entrants, with I think around 15 finishing. For 2k a rider, they get 38k, of this 38k, they have gps tracking, start and finish lines, as well as results and im assuming some sort of medal. Compare this to the 16000 riders at around R800 per entry for the CTCT, this is derived off of the 15700 last year, which will be more with the shorter one this year. They got around R12.8 mil just in entries, this is without sponsors, how do you compare the 2?
  7. Lower risk of scam if not using Bike Hub pay
  8. I would say bike shop is liable, but doubt youll get anything out of them Has he spoken to the shop?
  9. If you are looking for a slade, I’ve got a pretty well specced one I was planning on putting up for sale soon if anyone is keen
  10. Yea, raw alu is pretty sick, looks nice too But a carbon frame does feel and ride a bit nicer IMO Dont get me wrong, I have both bikes and I enjoy both, all frame materials have its pros and cons
  11. Can’t imagine that it would ever be covered, there would simply be too many claims, I pretty much have a new scratch or chip on my bike every 2nd week, anyone that rides on rocky trails will
  12. https://deltabikes.co.za/store/pageid3119modelnumberjlmin2/ If you looking for smaller quantities in a lekker convenient bottle 👆
  13. Not sure on what type of riding you looking at doing. But there is Garden Route Trail Park, Harkerville, both around 1:30 away. Witfontein in George is also there, but a bit more techy. Around 40 mins.
  14. Looks like I can only find the 2011 and 2015 sizes, both are 31.6mm, so should most prob also be the same.
  15. I should be able to help, pretty sure I have one lying at home, but unfortunately only back in Jan, if you don’t mind waiting/don’t come right by then
  16. From what I’ve seen carbon tends to stand up to more abuse as long as there aren’t any major direct hits, also pretty repairable, whereas alu can rarely be properly repaired.

  18. If you want to go new, it’s pretty much as good as you’ll get, but also have a look at Giant, Signal and Titan, some good options as well. Personally would go second hand, much better value, pay 20% less and use the savings for upgrades or repairs if necessary. Depending on location I don’t mind helping with choosing/setting up and vetting the bike if you do go 2nd hand.
  19. None that I know of, also had same issues, ended up replacing the whole unit, did look into getting some of these https://flomotorsports.com/collections/pro-120-mtb-levers-for-shimano/products/copy-of-beta-brake-lever-1#judgeme_product_reviews
  20. Remember to make sure your brakes are lekka😓 Took my bike apart, to do a bit of a color change, reassembled, bled brakes, pop up the road, do a few wheelies, brake suddenly has no power, almost end up on my back, kick leg out and bam, knee moertoe. Seems there was a bit of air stuck that just suddenly meant no brake power.
  21. Have done the DH blind on a 140mm hardtail, with XC tyres, defo doable, but much much slower than you’d be able to do on a enduro/DH bike. More than doable though, nothing super crazy and all the really tech stuff u could go around.
  22. Almost feels more like an xc Commencal Meta to me🙈
  23. With sealant in the tyre, the plug shouldn’t leak at all, sealant will clog up and seal any holes. Check the sealant, could be dried up.
  24. 27.5 is also great for the smaller bikes, where 29er would be a bit too big, many brands keep their S models on 27.5
  25. Don't remember whether there were any xc/trail, just noted the enduro ones, but there were dhf, assegai and I think some ardents.
