  3. Yip, I rode in from Table View. My shoes filled up with water and my feet felt like they were swimming The 19% chance of 1mm of rain all fell on me at once!

  8. Yip, common problem. It usually goes away within 2 or 3 days of rest. It's only a microscopic amount of blood which is caused by excercise. If you actually see blood when you pee, then you have a more serious problem.
  9. I've tried eating more fruit and I drink loads of water. But nothing seems to last very long. The strange thing is that even after 2 or 3 rest days, I still have to eat more than usual. Where do all the calories go? I'm not worried about weight AT ALL!
  10. Hi, I have just increased my training to about 8 to 10 hours a week. Now I find myself constantly hungry, even on my rest days. I am hoping this is normal. I am also hoing that there is some way that i can make it better, maybe by changing my diet. I don't want to feel hungry all the time. Any advice?

  12. Some good answers, thanks. This is definately true. Taking a full week off, especially after a race, really has a positive impact for me. I guess it's similar to tapering down your training 2 weeks before a big race.
  13. While resting / recovering, after how long do your muscles start getting weeker? Days? Weeks?
  14. Thanks, it was a girl. Everyone is doing well. It was funny, I was already dressed, had breakfast and about to step out the door to ride from Table View, when I got the call. It was a tough choice to cancel the ride. I almost made the wrong decision...

  22. Forgive my cross polinated BMX opinion, but this is what I see as a bunny hop. What I was talking about is when you get to the dipped sections of pavements, sometimes it's not a smooth transition. Either you ride super slowy over the bumps, or you lift your front and back wheel alternatively to reduce the chance of getting snake bites. I have never bunny hopped MY road bike.
  23. Servicing it will always be cheaper. (+/- R500?) You can even do it yourself. If you send it to the agents, they will tell you if it's worth servicing or not. A LBS might not tell you that.
