  1. Haven't read any of this thread yet so please excuse if this has been posted before. I am a huge Dylan fan but this cover is pretty good:
  2. For the guys keen on hydration packs etc, there is a massive sale running on Ultraspire gear --> http://www.nativesport.co.za/ultraspire/ I have not purchased from the shop previously but looks decent.
  3. <script language='javascript'> </script> It all depends on the terrain and how your feet land on the terrain. If there are rocky sections and you start to land on the arch of your foot on these rocks (could start to happen as you become fatigued) you might have some light bruising, the Salomons do not have a rockplate in them. always try to run 'light' on you feet
  4. <script language='javascript'> </script> Which route do you guys want to do?
  5. <script language='javascript'> </script> I need to check how the legs feel, started a training program on Monday that requires I do 5km each morning, so far the legs feel fine however don't know how they are going to feel Sat morning
  6. <script language='javascript'> </script> Probably calf tightness, what offset are you running with?
  7. <script language='javascript'> </script> That's what I thought they were referring to, so are they going to have Discovery representatives at each event to check that I run / ride in my Discovery kit? This is extremely impractical. My enthusiasm has dwindled significantly
  8. <script language='javascript'> </script> Askuus? What are they on about here?
  9. <script language='javascript'> </script> Jip, renewals are under way, might just have to sit out on the Vitality option this year to feel out if its working or not
  10. <script language='javascript'> </script> Thanks, I am rather surprised with the total lack of organization in terms of this, surely all things should be finalized before you market this?
  11. have any of you guys received a response on your initial mail query to Discovery?
  12. <script language='javascript'> </script> How technical are the trails at Avianto? I will do the 11km as I might do a road run the day before
  13. the week after is the Puma trial (same course as Xterra) http://www.stillwatersports.com/event/puma-trailrun-buffelspoort/
  14. <script language='javascript'> </script> <script language='javascript'> </script> Hmmm, which one to do?
  15. Dubbel reply to Dubbelbuys
  16. <script language='javascript'> </script> I am sure there are formulas and structured plans out there however my advise would be to take it slowly and incorporate some walking at the start, always take the distance increase slower than you think. As cyclists we want to increase distance quickly but you risk your knees, hips and feet not coping with dramatic increases in distance.
  17. <script language='javascript'> </script> I assume your comment is based on the Speedcross 3's as these are the most popular in the Salomon range. Actually these have a lot of support (fit wise) as these hug your foot nicely. They do not offer support in term of pronation although trial shoes should not be providing this in any case as you need to negotiate undulating terrian and including too much support will hamper your ability to "feel" the terrain. Also has nice toe protection when compared to its rivals. I run with a pair for my runs in excess of 10kms as the higher offset gives my calves some relief.
  18. <script language='javascript'> </script> Keen, I am going to start training on the road this week then run trail over the weekends
  19. <script language='javascript'> </script> So much LOL
  20. <script language='javascript'> </script> Juuup, I am by no means fast on the flats but give me a nice technical downhill and I love just bombing down it
  21. <script language='javascript'> </script> Nice one! I will try and get an entry for 2016, def on the bucket list.
  22. Want
  23. <script language='javascript'> </script> I have used the Nathan equivalent, the trail mix. Works okay, there is still some bounce. Was rather pricey at the time, I see capestorm now have their own version Costs around 350 if I remember correctly. The belts are okay, I only use mine when running short distances (I try to teach myself to proactively drink water while running) longer runs I use the vest
  24. I see the Run The Berg entries for next year are open, keen
  25. <script language='javascript'> </script> I use a Camelbak Marathoner vest at the moment, paid around 1,100 at Solomons a few months ago http://www.gr10trail.com/ekmps/shops/gr10trail/images/camelbak-marathoner-vest-2l.-%5B2%5D-5695-p.jpg
