  3. try CW Cycles. spoke to Junior and mentioned that they do have cyclocross tyres. Also spoke the Conti rep at the Argus who said they are bringing them into SA, and your LBS can order. not sure which models they carry.
  4. Specialized BG Comp shoe is great. I find them comfortable - also need a wide shoe - and have lasted 2 years and still have several more in them.
  5. In theory as u are starting your ride above normal range and continue to exercise you do not have enough insulin in your system to account for the hormones that are released during exercise and this therefore leads to the elevated glucose reading. If you are on an insulin regime you need to plan your pre ride meals with your insulin in take. It also depends on your level of fitness as well as the length of time you ride and diabetic status. This must be discussed with your diabetic caregiver as there are so many factors to consider.
  6. Must agree with Bwana. Just sold my Epic with similar setup and won't change from SRAM! Components 3 years old and still as smooth as day one. The X0 rear derailluer is bulletproof and smooth as! XT crank. Took my new ride, Stumpy expert with same setup to Slanghoek - extremely rocky with ups and downs rapid fire didnt miss a beat
  7. Not yet recovered. One lead that might be good - my brother asked the perp if he could keep his discovery card, which was promptly handed over - this will be dusted for fingerprints - hopefully there is something to go with... Anyone been offered a Superfly lately?!
  8. Does anyone know if it's possible to have a stolen gamin tracked or blacklisted?
  9. It happened around 8H30 this morning. He was going down the hill from the boom on Signal Hill Road, probably quite near the top. This guy was walking down the path and he slowed down to pass. As he did this he grabbed him and demanded whatever he had on him. He waved the knife around and was shaking - probably tikked up? then he took the bike and rode down the hill. ironically there were police training on the path, but it was too late when they realised the _unt flying past them on a carbon 29er without a helmet might be suspicious - what happened to shoot first then ask questions??
  10. My brother had his GARY FISHER SUPERFLY stolen from him by a knife wielding punk on Signal Hill this morning. The redistribution of goods included a GARMIN 705 and iPod NANO. He has changed the saddle to a white FISIK GOBI saddle. So this is different to the standard. Please call Karin on 021 464 8800 if you have any info or have come across this bike. thanks.

  14. Before the ride, you need to reset the trip. To do this, start watch and ensure trip is showing at top. Hold TOP LEFT button until the distance flashes, then press TOP RIGHT button. This will zero the distance for the current ride.
  15. I have posted some photos on my flickr site: they are low res but do have better res if required (getting the hang of the upload - reached my limit!).
