  1. Thanks. All in one shot. Being campy rebranded means its good then?
  2. I know I am surrounded by very knowledgeable people so please help with the following questions: 1. Anyone opinions of the Fulcrum Torq R Crankset? 2. Apparently they are made by Campy (or the same factory), so will this work with my Shimano 10 speed stuff? 3. What is the difference between italian and english thread and which one is the one we commonly use in SA?
  3. Want to give the whasp stuff a try, but cant fins it at my normal shops in Cape Town. Where can i get it? Can I buy it online somewhere (planetX only sells the gels)?
  4. 6.9kg (including pedals, bottle cages, computer, etc) Giant TCR Advanced ISP, Dura Ace with KCNC Brakes, Easton EA90 stem and EC90 SLX bars, Look Keo carbon pedals, Fizik Arione saddle, Reynolds Cirro SV carbon tubbies.desmondalie2009-01-05 04:36:13
  5. Will do
  6. Anyone knows whre to buy replacement decals for Reynolds wheels in South Africa or wher I can have these made?
  7. Anyone knows who the Reynolds dealers are in South Africa? I bought a second hand set of wheels, but I want to replace the decals. It will cost about R500 to buy it from overseas. Alternatively does someone know where I can have decals made?
  8. In Cape Town go to Dr. Jeroen Swart and the Sport Science Institute.
  9. I beat my sister in a race around the block when we were kids. Even though I was at a little bit of a disadvantage, with her having three wheels on her tricycle and me only having two on my BMX! desmondalie2008-12-04 06:55:17
  10. Anyone have a review/opinion on these wheels? Does anyone know who has stock and what the retail price is?
  11. This is the same like doping in cycling - push the limits as far as you can but stay just within the legal limits or dont get caught. This issue goes as far as my pocket. As long as I get good service good quality and good prices, they will have my support. The rest of the politics doesn't really matter.
  12. I know. I will put in om my list for Santa this year.
  13. I thought that was possible, but was not sure if it was a regular practice. I dont have a chain breaker, so I dont mind spending a bit more time with her.
  14. Is it possible to remove and replace a front and rear derailleur without breaking the chain? I am currently using Ultegra which I want to replace with Dura Ace.
  15. My advice - Get rid of those wheels. They are great in terms of stiffness and weight, but will cost you fortune to maintain in the long run. Are you sure the nipple was glued? What happens to these wheels is that the spoke and the nipple fuses together. Which means you cand adjust the tention. If one is fused the chances are that all of theme are fused and you will probably have to replace all the spokes, which will cost you a fortune.
  16. I've tried this stuf for a couple of days. It made me feel like sh%t, so I stopped using it. It felt like I had 10cups of espresso. Cant be good for you! Simply train more or eat less or both. Thats the best way to loose weight.
  17. The same articles are recycled all the time, it just gets new titles but the info stays the same ie. Get race ready in four weeks OR How to lose 5kg in 4 weeks, etc. Mu sub expired a while ago and I will probably not renew it agian.
  18. The Eastons are not light at all. They weigh just over 1.6kg. I love them, but want to get a lighter set of climbing wheels later (much later). read some reviews on the 202's and I thought it would be a nice option.
  19. The STI is a bit high, but I copied the set-up from my old bike, so it still need a bit of tweaking. I use the Eastons for both. Planning on getting a set of Zipp 202's. At this stage everything is Ultegraa besides the Crank (Dura Ace -thanks shaun) and the Brakes (kcnc). Planning on upgrading to full dura ace piece by piece. She now weighs 7.4kg. I use to be a bit low on the descents, but not anymore. This bike is so much more sturdier on the downs than my Scott. I can now keep upwith the rest of my group. Cant really feel the difference on the climbs.
  20. Finished building it last week. Great improvement on my Scott CR1 Team.
  21. Pitty its not the same shade of gold.....
  22. caad4 - you can start the desmondalie fundraiser. Thats going to be an expensive event.
  23. Dylan - the geometry of the specialized saddles look very similar to selle italia, so I have decided on the fizik arione.
  24. I've used an aliante before. It was comfortable but made my balls numb on long rides, which negativelty affected my performace off the bike. I am currently using a Selle Iatalia SLK, which simply does not work for me. Most people say the Arione is the best, but like we all know this is a trail and error process. I am ordering a white one today. Pretty expensive at R1500!
  25. Aedon - 2 inches? Thats like 5cm. How did you get a 5cm spacer under your cleat.
