  1. I did this some time back, still want to change the fork to a rigid. Also trying to figure out better gears/chainring options to make it a bit more "roadbike-like" as I still have the original SRAM 2x10 setup.
  2. Been using Bio77 Trace elements - add drops to your daily water intake (taste takes some getting used to).
  3. I have a GoPro 6 gathering dust if you interested - make a reasonable offer?
  4. But they also requested him to return the bike to said store........ Without getting the bike back, what else are they supposed to do?
  5. Not great and understandably frustrated..... But what do you want the outcome to be here considering you are now 7000 km's away? After-all they did ask you to bring the bike back.........
  6. Guys, I am making a shameless punt for a power business I am involved in: http://www.ganelec.co.za We are the South African agents for the OUCO range of inverters & Batteries which is distributed via ARB wholesale electrical across the country with local in-country support. We do both Residential & Commercial installations. Further to this, we also have access to various finance partners offering finance options for any Backup Power or Solar Installation. 7. Thanks, didn’t realise the threadmill is so power hungry, think will ignore that then and only focus on something for the Atom.
  8. Apologies if I have missed it in this thread, but what would be recommendations for a UPS just to run a treadmill or a WattBike/Kickr etc.?
  9. Expensive indeed but they are quality and do last - I have a winter jacket that is almost 8 years old and still perfect. As an option, I recently tried the monton range and am finding it a very very good alternative in terms of price & quality.
  10. Anyone bought a Wattbike recently that can share the buying experience? Did you buy locally, if so from who? Or internationally, any additional costs customs/shipping? Curious to know your experience with this process.
  11. Can't believe you actually said & believe this - you are so important that you will decide if rules/laws will apply to you Imagine riding on your quiet sand road/single track all by yourself & let's assume you had the virus (unbeknown to you). You are riding along and suddenly need to sneeze but it is ok because you are alone right, now imagine some guy from the local township also just wanted to get out for a walk/run and at this point that you sneeze, just as you pass him.......now he gets the virus & spreads it in the township like a freakin tsunami .......... But its OK, you managed to get a ride in during lockdown - you win! #befreakinresponsible
  12. i don't think this should be taken as "go for a nice hour long run" or " a nice 2hr bike ride" but rather run around or ride around your block or down your street - i mean afterall, there is method to the madness of a lockdown. be responsible! it's kinda a lifeline to help you cope from being stuck inside..........BE FREAKIN RESPONSIBLE!
  13. Looking for options to use as a training stand/table with my indoor trainer for laptop/tablet & bottle. Something like the Wahoo Fitness Bike Desk, but just much much cheaper! Any ideas for options? thnx
  14. My monstercross - just had it done on Dec 2019. Still undecided if I should change the shock to a rigid? Also still using my old SRAM XO 2x10 Cassette & Chainring (only replaced shifters & derailleur with Shimano Tiagra for now) - not sure which cassette & chainring to go to yet?
  15. Damm, you can't beat that price. I was looking at rebuilding my Swift D-Vore into a Monster Cross (gravel) but this pricing is just unbeatable......
  16. I know this is old, but where did you get that bike stand? Btw, nice bike!!
  17. Yup, also rather pay and get this this sorted. Last year, my first S2C, my rear brakes failed on Day 1 - struggled to find a mechanic that night who could assist as they were fully booked. Eventually one of them gave me some time and did a quick fix but it only held till the bottom of the Umko drop on Day 2. Struggled again that night to find someone to help. So I would rather go with piece of mind and have a mechanic booked!
  18. We rode there on Wednesday morning, was a bit eery as we were the only 2 guys around. Trails are not that bad, was expecting far worse. Some sections are a bit over grown, specially the blackjacks but really not that bad. Some sections we saw that the grass was cut, so someone must still be doing some work there. Overall still worth a visit!
  19. What time does Modderfontein open in the mornings? Want to go ride there tomorrow morning, is it still worthwhile or has the trails gone to the dogs?
  20. I reckon a few okes are going to come short on that downhill section from the Top Circle to the bridge before Toadbury........specially with some rain eroding away some parts.
  21. Also would love some first hand feedback if anyone has bought one yet. I have my eye on the TT bike but guess no one has feedback yet. I'd be more than happy to be a test rider - Hint * Hint
  22. I should just add that during my "shin pain ordeal" that i spent a lot of time at the Chiro & Physio to help with my poor conditioning. Finally I also did a running assessment at SBR to get the correct shoes......this even was done after my 3x half-ironman distances. So do not discount outside help. Also once you start talking to others you will find that most people are more or less the same boat or atleast were, even the top guys
  23. FWIW, i was exactly there a year ago. Having not run in like over 20 yrs and only doing the occasional 40km MTB race, I started out on the Tri adventure beginning last year. I started by not being able to run 20min......my shins were killing me (poor conditioning). 3 times last year I would build up to 1hr run and then have to take a month off for the shins to heal. Eventually I managed to get over that by beginning 2017. Also during that time I had to learn to swim - this was an initial struggle on its own. But I persisted throughout 2016 with both the swimming and struggling on with the run. I also joined an amazing Tri club, Trifactri, with awesome athletes & coaches. In March this year I managed to complete the MiWay Ultra in Durban, then the Ultra in Sun City and the last one was Ironman Durban in June this year. So just keep going but don't overdo it, really take it easy.....#keepgoing #slowly
  24. For the guys who bought the fenix 5 from overseas, is there no issue with maps? can you simply "replace" the international country map with a SA map?
