    Anyone else want to volunteer to oversee a group purchase of the RUNN and check cheapest option for getting it here (via one of the guys overseas that have offered or via direct website delivery option)? Otherwise I'll do it.

    If you check your rewards section in the app you'll see a note that says they're aware of the Garmin problem and will award your points retrospectively. And anyway you always have until the Tuesday night to upload your workouts for the previous week.

    I was in town from Thursday and was told when I arrived 'don't go over Stanhope bridge in the dark'. Heard there's been a few incidents of runners, walkers and cyclists being attacked. Must be the same guys? Why haven't they been caught yet??

    I've had the same problem 3 times now I think. I've got ctrack unit and the Bluetooth box installed. Discovery was getting results from ctrack unit, but I don't think those counted for rewards because I also had Bluetooth box registered. Bluetooth box showed 'connected' in the app, but I wasn't getting my rewards. Discovery sent me a replacement authoritarian SMS immediately each time I called to query. Went to TWT for replacement, showed up on their system too and it was sorted out quickly.

    Looking good! What calipers have you got on there now? I find the cable ones are fine now that I have the right calipers (short pull) for road levers - went with the cheapest ones I could find where both pads move (not like the mtb mechanical calipers I have, where one pad is stationary).     Did the red loop yesterday - wow! Looking so good. Met someone from Taroko Trails on the ride. I'm very impressed! Taroko has done a great job so far. Looked like a good turnout of runners and cyclists and families walking and all enjoying themselves. And then met Greg from the Farmers Market side. Was great to have food and coffee and drinks available again. Looking forward to many happy hours there of running, riding and family outings!

    They don't have a 42 tooth available yet, otherwise I would have also bought one from them.

    You'll probably need a 1x specific chainring - I tried a 42 tooth off a 3x crank and it kept dropping the chain because of the ramps and pins (unless you're planning on using a front derailleur as a chain guide to keep the chain on). I think it cost me about R200 on Amazon. Edit: I see you already answered that part before I pressed 'post'. I should still have the XT 42 in my box of things to give away if you want to arrange to get if from Joburg...

    Got an SMS to say 1400 Discovery miles have been loaded to my account for last week's exercise. I'm impressed. I was sure there would be a limit lower than that to how many miles I would be given. So I presume you can get the full 2100 if you want (7x300) or maybe even more if you're on the endurance option?

    I'm also planning to buy the RUNN, once the exchange rate improves probably. I also like the simplicity for using it for the whole family. And I like that it can broadcast incline. I don't think any other device can do that currently.

    Also got the SMS. Tried clicking on the link to see the T's & C's, but site down for maintenance. I presume there'll be a limit to how much they'll pay per week... But still very cool.

    From the looks of it, this is just to help you get to your (reduced) 300 points for the week for vitality active. As far as I remember, the rolling 12-month gym swipes thing was reduced before lockdown, so that people should be able to keep their gym benefit active. Would be nice to have some clarification that it's been reduced further or fallen away with lockdown now that gyms are closed, so that it stays active. (I'm also on the legacy deal.)

    Any cheap silicone grips will work - 1 cut in half per bike. (Not sure why I have black on there - I have a red one sitting in my packet of grips.) Or road bike bar tape - single wrap works fine for small hands. (I just re-used some old tape from I re-did my road bike or sometimes there's enough from the excess that you cut off when wrapping road bars.)

    Saris CycleOps Wheel Adapter for Indoor Bike Trainer https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BT578A/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A7V2CLTRGDT7X&psc=1 I saw this recently - was thinking of trying to make something similar to fit an old trainer I have. My original plan was to weld some brackets lower down on the A-frame to hold the narrower hub of the smaller bikes and lower the wheel closer to the resistance unit. Might still try that.
