  1. Done! Thanks for the tip Couldn't find any reason not to take the free watch and sell it to get what I actually want...
  2. Oh cool, even easier then! Was going to do it on a friend's phone.
  3. I see they've dropped the R999 activation fee for an Apple watch - now only R10. And then they only bill you if you don't achieve your exercise goal? Is that right? Any other costs? So would it be worth getting the watch, selling it brand new and buying a Garmin with the money? (I don't have any Apple products/ iPhone, so an Apple watch is useless in my household.) https://www.discovery.co.za/vitality/apple-watch-activation-fee-waiver And the new active gear savings: https://www.discovery.co.za/vitality/active-gear-your-evolution-in-fitness I love my Vitality diamond benefits, but the active gear / healthy gear stuff is a pain - haven't bothered using it. My friend's Momentum stuff seems so much simpler! Just pays for his device with a great upfront discount on the website, no need to do any complicated calculations, and it arrives a day or 2 later
  4. I'm 42. Not sure how accurately Garmin works it out - but it says V02 Max 66. (I also just saw it has some ridiculous race predictor times on the next screen.)
  5. Also Strava for me - edit the pair of shoes I used after each run.
  6. Looks amazing! Would love to come play around on the mountain. Will need to find a group to come play with at some stage...
  7. I just run. Nice to have the stats, but I never look at them. P.S. I'm 1.7m
  8. Ladies missed the cutoff to start lap 3 by only 12 minutes! Crazy.

  10. Good to meet you too Thanks for organising this. What a great idea!
  11. Looking forward to this tomorrow morning
  12. What sort of times are guys aiming for?
  13. Brilliant! And during the week? Is her phone number on the website?
  14. Reserve opens at 6, but circus only opens at 8am on weekends and 9am during the week http://www.circus.co.za/marcel-se-winkel/
  15. Also looking forward to the weekend camping at Huddle and the 12hr Strada...
  16. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=736803957012526&id=601417670551156 Wandi won. Heat must have been brutal!
  17. Not many updates happening on the Backyard Ultra https://www.facebook.com/BackyardUltraSA/?ref=page_internal Anyone know if it's possible to go check it out on Sunday? (if there's still anyone running at that stage....)
  18. ???? Great point! Pretty much depends on what you're planning on using it for. I had a 36 chainring on for Everesting and then realised there was nothing stopping me from putting on a 34. Attempted something steep on my mtb with a 36 chainring and a 50 on the back and remembered I forgot to put the 32 on - but why go 32 when you can go 30! Yes, can make some interesting plans with the wrong tools, but the right tools for the job is definitely the better option!
  19. I tried a wide range 10 speed sunrace cassette with my 42 chainring, but found I didn't need the range it gave. Much happier with one of the old 11-36 cassettes I had at home. (And have some smaller chainrings lying around if I ever need easier gearing.)
  20. Not sure if this bike is still available, but very nice. Had a look at it last year before it was for sale. (Bought a Momsen JSL16 from Dori.) Was looking for a reason to buy the Norco, but I don't need it. Weighed about 8kg. Light and looks like great build quality for a 16". Can always change the bar to a flat bar if needed. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/kids-bikes/449951/norco-16-in-great-condition
  21. It's a pain. Post a wanted ad. I was offered a 29er fork last year that I didn't take and it was never advertised I don't think. A few guys replied to my wanted ad.
  22. Nothing wrong with Toseek or Java as far as I know. I've got Java. Struggled last year to get any of the guys to send to SA from China. Eventually found one locally through my wanted ad. Can get for under R1500 if you can get it delivered at the moment with covid. Just decide if you want 29, 27.5 or 26 (I changed from 29 to 26 and can still fit my 29er 2.0 tyres with lots of clearance). And check if you need tapered or straight steerer... (Look on eBay and AliExpress and check for free or cheap shipping)
  23. I took the shoes for my daughter. Thanks again alleyne!
  24. I think I have a bar for you. Will confirm later...
