  1. yes i agree in the service environment, **** happens all the time, its how they recover from it, and if CWC were given the chance to fix it up, i am sure they would of gone the extra mile to put back your smile i didnt read the whole thread but speaking to the lbs would of been a better approach. it would of allowed them to look at the problem and identify where the process failed, i know from working it a service environment that you simply cannot QA 100% of work that leaves your workplace, but still your complaint sounds valid and certainly something, or someone flawed their process. and a large business like theirs should use your feedack to try and avoid this going forward. if however you did speak to them, and received a cold shoulder, by all means slur away, i'd be right behind you.
  2. Nooit, ill never survive.
  3. Shot alot, this is now for Knysna training, was just wondering if we should be riding other places as prep. Once we tend to come down, there is very little enthusiasm to go back up and do a repeat.
  4. Morning riders, and Winter hiders Help me please, i generally dont ride with a speedo on my mtb so could anyone give me a distance estimate plse. From Tokai car park, jeep track all the way to Silvermine, Silvermine Loop, from there head back towards Bridal Path. Turn around and start decending via single track Mamba, Boomslang, jeeptrack till Vasbyt, decend Vasbyt and thereafter either jeep or Roots or Faerie back to the car park. Anyone got a more or less km's figure. If you really know this Tokai area well, can you advise in this manner. Car park to Silvermine gate via Jeep track = Km ? Silvermine Loop = Km ? Silvermine to Bridal = Km ? From top of Bridal back down jeep track to car park taking the following single (Mamba, Boomslang, Vasbyt, Roots, Faerie) = Km?

  12. Anyone doing this today, how would you rate this climb - please compare to a climb on the suthern suburb (black hill, the nek, chappies, ou kaapie .....) http://www.pedalpower.org.za/News/NewsAdministration/tabid/159/newsid611/173/mid/611/Default.aspx Individual hill climb seeding TT We sometimes receive requests from cyclists who want to be upgraded to a higher seeded group, but who cannot ride all the funrides. To assist these riders with an additional, mid-week event, an individual hill climb time trial has been organised for Tuesday 11 January. The event will be used for general PPA funride seeding. The hill climb is roughly 3km long. How it will work Simply arrive at Malanshoogte anytime between 16h00 and 18h00 (last rider starting no later than 18h00), pay the R10 entry fee, put your name down in the next available start timeslot and then ride the hill as fast as you can. If the queues are not too long and you have the energy, you can even pay and ride more than once. It will be a relaxed and informal affair, and riders will be set off on the climb on a first-come, first-served basis, at regular intervals. Parking will simply be on the side of the road on the Contermanskloof/Vissershok side of the climb, although it would be preferable if you could cycle to Malanshoogte from Durbanville to warm up. The time trial will take place from the Fair Cape Dairy side, so no participants will be allowed to drive down Malanshoogte. Please do not bring and leave any valuables in your car. Racetec will do the timing, so do ensure that you bring and wear your electronic timing chip - no chip. no time. After doing the hill climb, why not go across to Killarney for the first training session of the year; the regular weekly Killarney sessions resuming as of Tuesday 11 January. For more information, phone Wendy or Samantha at the PPA Office on (021) 689-8420. Posted on Sunday, January 09, 2011 Contributed by karin.pohl

  20. hey second hand not a bad idea, if u unsure about condition, have the bike checked out at your local bike shop. i got a gt expert a few months back for 6k, x9 derailer, x7 shifters etc etc now for 6k new in the shop it would of been much lower end components, + i was new to the mtb scene so with scratches and falling i didnt feel so bad as the bike a used one. honestly for me, if i am looking to upgrade in the next few months ill go 2nd hand again.

    My ride!

Sweet bro Very nice without those stickers on the wheels Now all you have to do is keep up with me ..
  23. 100 % spin bike, the only thing is a decent spin bike doesnt come cheep. I've also tried em all and really only now use a spin bike in gym, for the class routines or on my own as well. But really at the end of the day it comes down to how you gonna use it, i could give you the best idt and you misuse it - no use. go with what you can afford and do research on how to have the most benefit from it.
  24. Ronelle, excellent pics as usual. When u gonna get some of the okes at the back ... u know the one's that just about crawl over the finish ..like me
