  2. as mentioned i have tried all the avenues. I played cricket for a long time and noticed the blind spots with the inserts even when cycling. It was the only option for me at the time as I struggle big time to use contacts. I am only using them for about 3 or 4 years now and still struggle. My prescription sunglasses work for me. Check with spec savers what they have available as well. You are limited in the shape of the frame for sunglasses.
  3. I have a pair which is great, but you are left with horrible blind spots. I have since learned to use contact lenses and I also have a pair of prescription sunglasses, which might be a better option.
  4. Plan was to head out that way today, but saw the rain this morning and decided to get back into bed. We had just got home at 4:30 as well, and only managed to sleep until 8!

  7. Jor I would love to join. Hopefully you guys are patient enough for my slow fat ass. All depends on the amount of big climbs but I should manage. Havent been out on a bike since beginning of june!

  9. " A Few Words About This Research When searching for the weights of the TdF road bikes, I faced multiple challenges: The bike weights vary depending on the bike size, specifications, and components. Not all weights were available (e.g., on the manufacturers’ websites, in magazines, or online). This means the overall results are slightly skewed, but I did my best to provide you with the most accurate answers." I found this on last years tour where they actually weighed certain riders bikes. https://www.bikeradar.com/news/2022-tour-de-france-bike-weights/
  10. I understand how the weights can affect someones performance. For me personally its my body weight. If I am lighter I ride alot better, especially on climbs. I have compare same routes on a 7.8kg road bike vs a I think 12kg hardtail. I am faster on some sections with the mtb on tar with knobbies. I am faster on the roadi over long straights, but if I am a few kg's lighter then I am faster on the roadie.
  11. indeed and The average 2023 Tour de France bike weight is 7.08 kg. The average 2023 Tour de France aero bike weight is 7.19 kg. The average 2023 Tour de France lightweight bike weight is 6.96 kg. Does it make that much of a difference roughly 0.2 grams?
