  1. aha. I see. More challenging for me is gracefully clearing that first table as you turn away from the fence almost at the top still. Dodgily clearing it straight is one thing, any style whatsoever just eludes me. I have never pre jumped the little drop before the table (2min40), I actually push down into the landing, and have more than enough speed to clear the table after that. Interesting how riding styles are vastly different, and also line choices. Time to strap my Gopro on for a ride soon.
  2. what drop are you guys referring to? I was working, and missed the drop section. Where in the vids is the drop?
  3. Nope, they are going left at the top - and over playgrounds, right is the DH line.
  4. Only on the DH line if I'm not mistaken?
  5. yup, easy to find, no permits needed. - edited - Permit needed for both A and C line. Take your basic trail etiquette with and don't brake in tight corners, and you'll be fine.
  6. where would I find Richard's strava segments?!
  7. Here's my Saturday morning; quick run around G-spot. No idea how to make better quality gifs, and very little style on this dead sailor over that bumpjump. At least nosed into the landing - if that counts for anything.
  8. who took fastest time of the day on strava? Time for a bit of stravastalking - want to see where I measure up to you guys. What time do you finish up in the afternoon? Keen to pull through for a post work sesh in Paarl? I work super close to the trails, so ride it every now and then before heading home after work. I pedal up and down though - we'll have to see how good that reign can climb...
  9. haha, that's where you stash (read throw) your bike to bleed through your eyeballs and gasp for your breath after a couple of climbs and descents.
  10. Paarl taalmonument laps yesterday - windy, and hot - so climbing was hard, but fun nonetheless.
  11. routing is a challenge, but I have not had any frame or crown contact - I've zip tied the dropper and brake together at the top, and it gives it a more rigid end - so not as floppy as brake line only.
  12. Yes, It's the Expert model, they were out of Pros when I ordered. I've got the IVA kit in, and dropped travel to 150mm - considering modding a spacer to set travel at 145mm, even though the 150 feels pretty good. Fork feels epic, super light, grip for miles, and plush. Yes, those are 2.4 Ardents.
  13. Aaaaand done. After a month not riding, my beast is finished, and not a minute too soon. Front wheel will soon be the same WTB as on the rear, but yours truly lost focus and bought a boost hub...
  14. flip, you guys are on it. not so teaser anymore.
  15. who knows, maybe it's a mech, maybe it's a skewer or a chaintool. Judging by that photo - I have no idea...
  16. Came into the office at 5:30am this morning to build my bike, just to realise I don't have the right tool to adjust travel on my fork, also no hammer for starnut/fork race, chaintool still at home and I need chainring bolts, and to remove a bushing from my shock before I can fit it... FLIP!&^%$%# So I fit my rear derailer to the frame. Smallest victory of all time. Overshadowed by a colossal fail.
  17. Lekker Myles! Calling in the big guns! What's your estimated wheelset weight? I'm in at around 1930g - without rimtape and valves; but I went for the big boy spokes - the DTSwiss Champion PG with brass nips, so that adds a bit of weight.
  18. how to dwarf your fork and make 180mm rotors seem way too small... Is my mind messing me around? Fisheye shot? Those tyres looks like old school Gazzalodis - it looks so massive. Summin else, I'm picking up my CRC package in lunch today
  19. What's the dims on that beastly wheel?!
  20. This is why:
  21. Post us some pics - wheelset, not tyre lever!
  22. whahaha, had the exact same shopping basket, and at the last moment went for the i29's - just because I'm worried about tyre clearance at the back on a 40mm rim! In Jhb at customs at the moment - flip!
  23. My desk this morning
