Partial replacement for crashed helmet - 30 or 40% off. Haven't been able to drop off at LBS yet, but confirmed that Giant does crash replacement, so all good.

I had one murova fall on Tuesday. Wind blew my wheels from under me (quite literally) as I was gunning down G-spot. hit the deck quicker than I could counteract, broke helmet, wasted collarbone (not sure if broken or not - looks more like ligaments around, rather than bone) But loads of swelling, clickity-click noises, black and blue from my peck, past my shoulder and up my neck, with loss of articulation in my shoulder. Lost the peripheral vision in my right eye for a couple of hours, and the colours were almost sepia for a while and then luckily returned back to normal. Unlucky! Probably, a couple of weeks before I can ride trails again, will have to see.

flip, I've done that once previously on a forged, non-hollowtech crankset, and also happened easier than expected, bike falling over on cement! No idea why, but that sucks big time! Maybe they'll replace it since it is new - even better if you accidentally caught the strike on gopro.

Lekker! Doesn't sound like a small pedal strike to bend a crank arm! What crankset was on there?!

Also fitted the new rear tyre. WTB Breakout 2.5 front and WTB Trail Boss 2.4 rear. Front has 5 -7mm clearance left on the Mattoc, so now we know the size limits of non-boost forks. Grip is phenomenal, but more intensive and repetitive "testing" would have to be done just to be sure. Rolling resistance is pretty good. Also fork serviced, and massaged and is now even better than before. Bike feels so dialled. Amped

Yes, I have both, so switching forks to whatever mood I'm in. The Mattoc got some fresh oil early this morning, so time to go on!

grip seems ridiculous so far! Clearance though - but the high volume 2.5 is the limit for the Pike. Have about 3 - 5mm clearance. Will check the Mattoc, guessing I'll have more clearance on there.

I channel the spirit of merican automobiles when I ride, great in straight line, but flat corners... drift drift drift, spin out.

10min stop at playgrounds on my way home from the shaping bay. Offload bike, hit table 4 times, load bike, go.

Got lost up on Helderberg early Saturday morning. Is it just me or is the signage and trails all a blur - one big maze? Going up is pretty straight forward - down not so much. Any ideas on what the best (read fun, fast, flowy with some jumps) routes are for going down - that I don't descend in what feels like 2minutes? Seems like too much of a pedal for how quickly I was on a trail called "Mexican Border" missing the jumps, and most of the lekker trails I guess. I kept ending up on the black DH routes - not ideal for riding blind, gnarly, but not fun. My Strava from the sesh looks like a scratchpad...

Quick hour and a couple of runs down G-spot after work yesterday.

Going down Spez 2 & 3 in Jonkershoek including the wall ride. Quality issues makes it blurry, even though footage is super crisp on my end before uploading. Fun ride, bumpy and all over the place.
