  1. Cascades, Karkloof, Howick... A bunch of us are heading down again next week. Karkloof Enduro
  2. Really depends which Enduro section you are talking about.
  3. Eish
  4. Thanks dude. Going to go have a good look at it this weekend. I think everyone who rides a bike should know by now that even if you are very skilled and do everything right, there's still a chance of a crash. Hope you are fine after your lie down when your chain broke on Bundaberg the other night.
  5. The commentary was as insane as the run.
  6. You would have to own and ride all 3 often to take part.
  7. Would be very dependant on the relative skills and fitness of the competing riders. Could work if you have a good number of varied ability from both groups. Still, fast Enduro riders on long travel bikes will always be faster than fast rigid riders down gnarly trail.
  8. Hmmm... Don't know about that. I see Thug riding his rigid down tech stuff nearly as fast as his 160mm rig.
  9. Yeah, I was in Bloemfontein. I haven't ever been that cold since.
  10. I commuted through a particularly cold winter (2001) in Jhb where it often dropped to -2 in the mornings. Needless to say, even thermal arm warmers didn't do the trick. Had to have an additional wind breaking layer.
  11. Now you are confusing XCO with the Karkloof Enduro.
  12. I was still not quite making the landing on my first two attempts when we saw you there. Have to brake less next time.
  13. The Spruit is ever changing... but the ruts are always worst after a heavy rainy season. During winter the grass on the edge of the rutted path dies and they become flatter and wider from use.
  14. He seemed to be fine. Slight grazes on forearm. I just think gingers are immortal.
  15. He emigrated I'm told. Think to Scotland...
  16. Which specific courses are you referring to?
  17. Lol. I never saw that. I think we should post some evidence of what this scary bomb hole looks like. Just to provide some comic relief for the Capetonians ans Natalians...
  18. Please stop it now! We got a handful of runs two weeks ago but it wasn't enough. Just love it!!
  19. I agree. But what you are reffering to is one isolated lip on a particular bomb hole which should be removed. All other challenging lines I can think of are very obvious and well off the main line. Even if you mistakenly take the scary line there is a safe way around every obstacle. The jump lines in Hurlingham being prime examples.
  20. In the article they talk bout how *** the ally one is compared to the carbon...
  21. PMB has A,B and C lines now. C lines usually much longer with the least tech.
  22. Naas, I agree with you that B and C lines should cost a rider more time than just a couple of seconds. But how strong must that rider be if they are losing those couple of seconds at every obstacle, effectively playing it safe, and still winning. Surely the more skilled guy who is just as fit should have won easily?
  23. The main trail of the Spruit can be rolled by my Gran in a wheelchair. You have to make as conscious decision to leave the unmarked green line and find the fun stuff. Same as that seesaw bridge. There was always an alternative rideable line through the bottom of the small river.
  24. I can make little red signs with GAP on them for Byron Line. For those who must be completely blind...
  25. Just last week Sidewinder and myself were playing on the Hurlingham jumps. That line alongside the river towards the crossing before WNicol. Anyway, this young guy on his entry level hardtail comes cruising through the first berm, hits the jump and bounces a few times on the landing before disappearing off the edge and 2m down into the river. Don't know how he managed to miss all the major rocks, debris and tree stumps down there and land in a pile of mud. Well, with some assistance he was back up the bank, on his bike and jumping the next kicker...
