  1. For the Lost City race, you will be seeded according to your best seeding achieved according to the Superseeding Ladder. So Randfontein and/or Fountains will not give you a seeding, only some good training.
  2. The Kremetart is part of the seedings at Cycle Lab. The results for 2008 is not on as Cycle Lab is struggling to get the results from Championchip to update the seedings (as with some other races of 2008) The organisers from their side also need to follow up with CChip as to why the results are not given through to either Cycle Events or the oragnisers themseleves. Bakwena organisers did that. (Other organisers would still like to know how they managed it, because they still get a big fat ignore from CChip). Carousel organisers also have been trying for months now.
  3. It is fixed! No more 0.00 index.
  4. Speke & SkyDancer, please tell the other organisers of Carousel, Kremetart, Race for Victory, Crater Cruise etc. what tactics you used to get Colin to provide you with the results? Or to even get any kind of a reply from them. Obviously assuming that all monies owed to CChip were paid (as is the case with the Carousel).
  5. Great! So CChip was paid, so there should not be any reason for them not to handover the Bakwena results to either Cyclelab or to the organisers who in turn will hand it over to Cyclelab. Trust you'll be following up with CChip if it's not happening. So we know now that CChip has been paid by both the Carousel organisers and Bakwena organisers, but CChip (Colin) still not doing their part of the deal??? There is still the Kremetart and Race for Victory results missing (for seeding purposes) as well.
  6. I see they do still exist. Timed the Berge en Dale this weekend. Maybe I can get hold of Colin at the next race that CChip is scheduled to time.....
  7. I have done my homework on at least the Carousel race. The Carousel race organisers have paid CChip, I have a copy of the CChip invoice as well as proof of payment. I am trying since 25 November to get a response from CChip. I included the invoice and proof of payment in my mail to CChip with the permission of the Carousel organisers. They are even CC-ed in my mails. Erick from CycleEvents (Cyclelab) also get no answer from CChip. I asked about the Bakwena in my original message, because I know that the organisers of Bakwena are regular visitors on the hub.
  8. I still do not see the Bakwena 2008 results included in Cyclelab's seeding ladder. Any possible reason? Speke? Also others like Carousel, Race for Victory, Kremetart etc. Btw. no luck in trying to get an answer from CChip. Do they still exist?Oxymoron2009-02-01 23:36:52
  9. That is great and that is the way I was used to CChip doing it. Lately something is the matter, because CChip do not answer any emails. And not just emails from myself. I used to be one of the organisers of one of the Classics and for all the years I was involved with it, all my correspondence with CChip (contract, enquiries, email sent to all chip holders, etc.) was done via email. No problems whatsoever. Since November they have not answered a simple query from my side. A month later I started sending my query every 2nd day. The lady responding to the 'info' email-address all of a sudden last week replied, but only asked me to stop sending the email because only Colin can answer the question, although my mail was directed at Colin and the info address???? Now as far as I know, if that is the case, she could have asked Colin for an answer, not so? So I am just hoping that for your race the results will be forwarded for seeding purposes without any hassles. Meanwhile all the results of the races I have mentioned, are still not forwarded to be included in seeding. Looking forward to the race.
  10. Will do it for the first time this year. Just trust that CChip will send through the results afterwards for seeding purposes. Still waiting for results to be sent through of: Powerade Kremetart 2008 Mountain 2 Mountain 2008 Sungardens Carousel 2008 Ride Mag Crater Cruise 2008 Rand Water Race for Victory 2008 Bakwena Post Office Classic 2008
  11. Angel, did you get any 'new' addresses? I am trying now for 2 months to get a simple answer from them. Just a big ignore from them!
  12. You still are... just a different race Oops!....... you are so right, Backlash!
  13. Cyclelab can only publish the seeding once they have received it from the timing companies. The timing companies will only send the results to Cyclelab once all timing queries are resolved and...... if their accounts have been paid by the race organisers. BTW. I am not involved with either Cyclelab or any timing company. Used to be part of a race organising committee.
  14. Keep in mind it is the organisers who decide where they want the numbers to be picked up. On the agreement between the organisers and Cyclelab for a specific race, the organisers have to complete the part of where registration will take place.
  15. I bought a second hand Powertap SL last year (July) to add some method and meaning to my training. I am only competing against myself. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I had the hub built into a Mavic Open Pro wheel by Johan Bornman. Excellent job done by him. Started riding with it, but soon realised I need to have a trainer who can assist with training programs. It is working very well. The hub is a 28 hole hub. Johan Bornman also stated clearly that he would have preferred it to be a 32 hole hub. Reason became more and more obvious the last couple of months. I keep on breaking spokes on that wheel. So much so that I can not trust to use the wheel during races anymore. I broke a spoke again during yesterday?s Fast One race. Same thing (breaking of spokes) happened before and then I bought Easton Vista?s. 20 spokes in front and 24 at the back. No problem with it whatsoever in almost 2 years time, until I got my Powertap and had to have it built into another wheel. I am 47 years old, 1,88m and weigh 108kg. Ok, I know that the weight is part of my problem. There is only one solution to my problem. To follow Johan Bornman?s suggestion and get a 32 hole Powertap SL hub. I can see only 2 options: Buy a 32 hole Powertap SL, new or secondhand, or Find someone willing to swap my 28 hole hub & wheel for a 32 hole hub & wheel. Any other suggestions or anyone willing to swap? Thanks Oxymoron2008-01-29 01:35:06
  16. Read all about it here https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=20173
  17. Thanks Bruce. I'll tell him. I think it might just be the case. Different builds.
  18. I have a couple of .wko files (from my PowerTap SL) that I have emailed to someone. When he is trying to open the files I sent him, from his CyclingPeaks software, he can't open it and gets an "Unexpected File" error. Does anyone have an idea of how to solve it? Thanks
  19. Dankie Sammajoor, dit word waardeer. As klub is mens maar sensitief vir sulke dinge en ek wou net voorkom dat die "grapevine" hardloop. Netnou beland ons op Son se voorblad!
  20. Watter klub is so nice.? een van die grotes in Pretoria Sammajoor, wees asb. so gaaf en s? na wie jy verwys, omdat sulke beweringe ook nou ander klubs wat 'n Hospice as 'beneficiary' het, impliseer, soos jy sou opmerk in Boela en Angel se kommentaar.
  21. My 2c's worth. I did it last year and will probably do it again this year. My experiences of last year: only one lane was closed off down Church Street and Soutpansberg Road. The faster groups did catch the slower groups leaving the faster groups little or no space to pass with the result of them passing on the right hand side of the closed lane. Even more dangeorus was the stretch down Soutpansberg Road where residents wanting to exit their homes having to wait for big groups to pass. There were residents who got so irritated that they did take chances to exit between the passing groups. Some riders had some near hits. I also support bringing cycling races to the spectators in Pretoria but there are many beautiful places (and hills) in the suburbs where a larger group of spectators can be reached, as some of the contibutors have already mentioned too.
  22. Any non-licensed riders that were seeded as a licensed rider in one of the Vets groups (happened to a couple of people in our club) who had any hassles in getting their numbers? Are you staying in your "wrong" Vet group or did they re-seed you?
