  1. I think you either had some sort of technical issue or a dud cannister. I've bombed quite a few road and mtb tyres now and must admit I've thrown all my pumps (except for the track pump) away. Both my adapters have a regulator to control the speed of inflation, and the BBB (I think) one has a funky plastic cover that goes over the bomb to protect from the cold.
  2. I'll be riding my rigid DB tonight at the bike park. Still love it. However I havn't converted to SS yet as there are far to many nasty hills between me and the spruit.
  3. I've ridden up the side of Witkoppen up to Merrowdown (the robot after the Peaugot dealer) and down to Douglas Drive, both are fun. Douglas to Grosvenor over William Nicole and down to the spruit is also fun. Nasty climb comming back. Be carefull of Merrowdown to the bike park, especially on main road. Lots of bike jacking's there. Also not to sure about the spruit from 12th Ave to William Nicole there where problems there last year and I don't think it is advisable to ride alone along it. I'm sure with a bit of exploring you could come up with some excellent routes.
  4. Where in Sandton to where in Fourways? In general the pavements in Fourways and Bryanston have a pretty amazing selection of fun single track and then the spruit can be linked into the route where necissary.
  5. 8th overall, nice one Dude.
  6. That totally sucks. I wish you strength and a speedy recovery.
  7. Mark - I didn't see you and the clan there....pity! Glad to hear Cian kicked some ass. Great race otherwise - got to the start early and had no "traffic" whatsoever - course conditions were wicked (just wet enough to carve up nicely)' date=' weather was great, atmosphere was awesome, the new bike handled like a dream (29 is the way to go - it rolled really well over bumpy single track), met soome old friends I haven't seen for a while.... All in all a good day! [/quote'] Cian says she thinks you over took her on your way to the finish. It was only Cian and I at the Fast MTB, the rest road the Berg & Dale the previous day.
  8. My little step daughter wasn't as fearless as she looked. She told me last night that at the tough looking climbs and drop-offs she promised herself a chocolate if she managed to ride the obstacle. I think she ended up with 3 out of 5 for the ride. I think it is time to take her to the bike park and make sure she has the correct technique.
  9. We had a total ball on this ride. Di CPD finished her longest MTB race (60km) to date and even made time to assist a guy with a snapped collar bone. My little steep daughter (13) also finished her longest (30km) and was classified 3rd in her age group. I had a blast thanks the GT Marathon Pro kindly lent to me by Clint and Arthur at Finish Line cycles. What an awesome bike. Going to be very reluctant to give it back this morning. The 30km traffic on the first lap was a bit frustrating and I think a split start would be nice for future events. Also split timing would have been nice, I'm sure it would show my second lap a lot faster than the first. The new improved route is also excellent. I totally loved the single track by the river. I found out on my second lap that it is completely ridable (apart from the tree over the path), and that if you carrly enough speed through the drop off's you can get some RAD air popping out the top of the short sharp climbs. For those girls blouses who insisted on walking the drop offs, my 13 year old step daughter doing her first decent race rode all of them!!! As a whole I would give the organisers a big and a , while there is room for improovement it was a great event and I will be back next year.
  10. you seem pretty excited by the news... Not really, however I'm sure it will make you both nicer people. You know, less stress and all that.
  11. Me thinks that thread may have been getting far to close to the truth.
  12. HUGH?
  13. Sadly it is official, I just got this mail from Cult Cycling:
  14. I must say I've had the same service with Arthur and Clint at Finish Line Cycles. My Cannondale head shock has been down in Cape Town being serviced for nearly 2 weeks. I have the Fast MTB race coming up this weekend. So far I've been offered Clints Bianchi as well as some high end GT's to ride if my shock isn't back in time. Well done guys.
  15. I'm also keen on the MTB portion.
  16. I agree ... holy' date=' isn't it time for another mine dump ride?[/quote'] Oh my word, I'm soooo embarrassed now. Its a ride at a mine dump It is definitely time for one of those again.
  17. First decide if it is road or MTB or both, next find a venue / route. Now comes time to set a date. An interesting prospect as the racing calendar has kicked off big time. Then publicise and watch the people come.
  18. I was co-organiser of the new years one and from time to time Holy goes for a dump near the mines. In fact HR isn't it time again?
  19. the only one I know' date=' in my tribe! [img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley36.gif[/img] I see I'm not the only fan
