  1. You should look at CRC's price on Continental Mountain and Race King UST's. Much more affordable, I'm very, very tempted.
  2. Please add the rabbit (Turtlek) to the list of good sellers.
  3. Some where I heard that sucking Rennies helps.
  4. I've also tried throwing away the bag as they are useless and taped the tube to the seat post. Still scuff's through .
  5. Please post more details.
  6. On my MTB I keep a some duct tape wrapped around the seat post for this type of problem. I've also taken an old toothpaste tube and cut some rectangular patches with rounded corners to place on the inside of the sliced tyre and to be kept in place by the duct tape. Never had to effect a repair, so no idea if it will work.
  7. I'll second going tubeless (and drop the pressures once tubeless) , my vote is still out on Geax. Nothing wrong with Mountain King's (apart from the price in this country).
  8. As a matter of interest are you running tubes or tubeless, what pressure and where on earth are you riding?
  9. WOW ripping up Kenda Komodos. I thought they where bullet proof, they certainly heavy enough to be. The good news is you may well be able to repair smallish rips. - Clean the inside of the tyre properly and rough up a little with light sandpaper. - Stitch the tear back together using a darning needle and dental floss as thread. - Place a tube repair patch over the inside of the repair. This works for tubeless as well. Credit to go to Big Ben. Oh, yes, and welcome to the hub. markStockton2009-03-30 05:07:36
  10. he didnt finish on the bike he started on... As far as I know, they swapped back. So Burry only road the middle section of the stage on a different bike. But I could be wrong. Ok, the question was answered on another thread. He didn't ride the full distance of the stage on his bike. markStockton2009-03-26 01:01:35
  11. If I posted exactly what I thought about the penalty as well as those looser teams who lodged the appeal, the sensor board would close this site down and I would be barred from ever touching a keyboard ever again.
  12. Yip, same for me, I sent Admin a PM yesterday detailing the problem.
  13. Sadly the problem continues.
  14. Very true. The only two Whasp flavors I tried should have been called "vile" and "even worse". Although I must say I havn't tried the new flavors. markStockton2009-03-20 02:44:48
  15. While I'm all for freedom of choice, and I believe everyone has the right to become an organ donor if they want. I just saw a tjop down the road from my LBS on his mountain bike with out a helmet.
  16. Last year we did the Vodacom Challenge Yourself weekend in Potch. On the MTB ride / race which was largely flat, dirt highway type stuff there was one monster climb. Everyone was off there bikes and pushing towards the last 1/4 of the climb and every turn in the path we hoped signalled the end of the climb. Eventually a guy just behind me comes round a corner, looks up at the next section of climb and screams at the koppie, "KRY NO F#KKEN END!!! "
  17. I agree with mixed emotions. I'm not sure if I'd like to know if my LBS was there or not. However I am happy with the fact that I don't pay RRP at my LBS anyway. And now I'm happy as Finish Line Cycles isn't on the list. Whooopeee. However I can say the shop I used to use was definitely there, the owner admitted as much while his wife spent 2 weeks peeling off old prices and repricing every item in the store . And now appears as the last shop on the list Jules posted. markStockton2009-03-18 06:08:42

  19. I saw the new Indola bib's at the pre-Argus expo. They looked awesome. Their baggies have the best shammy that I have. My other choice would be Velotex.
  20. I'm sorry to hear about this. Just terrible. If I rode a road bike much my training partner would either be Mr Glock or Messers Smith and Wesson.
  21. That reminds me' date=' I still need to wage war against my uninvited guests. Wonder if my napalm order has been delivered to the post office yet... [/quote'] What you need is the "Improvised Explosives Hand Book". If I remember correctly a Napalm substitute can be made by dissolving styrofoam (yes meat packing tray material) in petrol until the solution is completely saturated (ie - it won't disolve anymore).
  22. I wonder what effect an immunity from prosecution will have on one or two of the smaller LBS at the meeting. It would be a kinda win - win situation for them.
