    Jailbreak 2013

I had a mixed race - worst swim ever. Got a hard kick in the face and swollowed a lot of water and had to move to the side for a few minutes ti catch my breathe and took twice as long as planned. The swim in my strength and is was quite weird coming into such a bust transition but ended having a great bike (by my standards) and past a lot of people (also unusual for me). Run pace was 5h36 and managed to finish strong! Got 11.8km on my Suunto (for the min) There was wind but a lot of the bike was quite sheltered I thought Really enjoyed the race!
  3. Thanks Do you do your correspondence over email/Skype and how often do you get feedback and make adjustments. essentially trying to ascertain the value of buying a program or having a coach
  4. Therein lies the issues - mid week runs often leave my legs heavy for riding so I tend to keep the runs shorter. But I guess that the challenge and the beauty of trying to balance all of this
  5. Im not overly concerned about going down (I broke my ribs weeks before IM last year and surely it wont be two in row.) Also given the number of crashes and accidents I try not have that mindset. My question is taking the week to taper before another event and loosing out on training in lieu of resting to get a good time for another event. Case in point - last week I didn't train hard as I was riding Die Berger and wanted a good time for an Argus seeding.

I have it worse .. espncricketinfo isn't work and I have to use news24 .... the commentary is about 5 balls behind. Hopefully I get home in time to see the highlights
  7. Do you know the rates? not much info on the site Also - I have heard many people complain about coaches ect and how hands off and unavailable they are - particularity with weekend warrior types. What has your experience been with S2S

  15. Thanks - I guess as they say there is no such thing as bad PR. Credit to you for addressing all the questions I had and not skirting the issues. One day, when im a big boy and can push out the watts to justify having a full disc you will be the first to know! Sorry if the thread is getting a little side tracked by my hub stalker
  16. I never disputed HED came from the states, I agree they do. Do you dispute most other frames ect are made in the east? Did you read the links? The information was copy and pasted. If you read further the one article goes on to explain in more details. The articles have nothing to do with HED wheels but more that most frames are made in the east but will still say made in Italy/USA ect. The term "made in the USA' has criteria which it has to conform with to say this
  17. If you read you will see there was plenty interaction with the OP and myself discussing various issues, If he had asked not to make enquiries I would respect that.. He was happy to engage and through that engagement a lot more information, helpful to his rental actually came out. Such as length of rental, insurance ect. If you read further you would also see that I would see value to try a different set for a certain type of course so I would potential make use of this service. Unlike you I didn't insult or take pot shots at people who are considering or using this service. Do you see the difference? Im confused - do you or don't you understand the difference in the two threads? Your obsession of following me from thread to thread is quite flattering but also disturbing that stalking me is exciting - by your own admission
  18. 70.3/Full IM Sub 3h15 Argus Improve my PPA seeding - would like to get to C or D MTB Stage Race Win The Hub Tour de France competition
  19. Slight hijack but for interest Majority not all and this was in reference to his comment of asian items in the pro's. I dont deny the quality of their product. When something is made somewhere it means all parts are produced locally where as manufactured means it is assembled there but parts are sourced outside of that country. Also In order for a bike to claim “Italian made” or “made in USA” for example, the cost of the frame needs to be above certain percentage (50% from what I understand) which originates from that country. Design, painting, engineering, marketing, etc. The cost of material is relatively cheap, so it’s easy to claim that a frame is made in a more “prestigious” country. I’ve spoken with people who have seen “Made In Italy” stickers being put on bikes in the factory in China (Bianchi, Pinerello, Colnago are some examples). Bikes are produced in other countries, but Asian factories probably produce 95% of the units sold in the United States. Incidentally, the “big three” (Giant, Trek, and Specialized) account for almost 80% of all bikes sold in U.S. bike shops. http://aushiker.com/...y-bicycle-made/ http://inrng.com/201...made-your-bike/ When something is made in the USA, all the parts and pieces that into the product are domestic. When something in manufactured in the USA, parts may be imported from other countries and then assembled in the United State - See more at: http://www.chacha.co...sh.83GNwkYO.dpu
  20. I agreed that the rental would probably better serve people in your situation or people who had their good damaged en route to the race - they would probably pay a lot more.
  21. Not to get into a whole new discussion but im quite certain majority of the branded stuff gets made in the east. Shimano is a brand from the east and ive seen it regularly on the pro scene (on TV of course) Im not dissing your business model ect and im sure you have done the maths. Im just trying to figure who the actual target market would be as in theory it is a valid idea Also your price is your price and I accept and respect that and im sure some people would pay more, especially if they were in a tight spot.
  22. This is exactly the scenario I think this service would work best for as I mentioned in previous posts - or as the OP pointed out I want to try different wheels for a different profile race
  23. Agreed on this point but also think that it is a very small percentage given the sponsorship involved at those levels. Good luck with your venture
  24. Thanks for the feedback, don't get me wrong, their might be a market but just trying to wrap my head around it all. 1. A rental cost of a Polo is about R300 a day and a New 1.4 Polo is about R230k .... Wheel rental per day/event is R1500 and new wheels are R20k?? 2. Can you even get this type of insurance for one event? If so have you research and could you give us an estimate? 3. You are offering a service not a product (Ie the rental of a product). No one would say no to new free anything 4. You said US/EU is R1800 per day and you are R1500 per day - the difference isn't relative ...You also only pay this duty once. As many other retailers do. 5. Will your wheel be compatible with all or will the onus be on that person to go and buy a cassette for example? 6. Your should have said this up front as it would be a very important point for anyone considering this 7. If they don have $$$ for wheel where would the majority get this 'experience'
