  1. haha well yes - and it looks like you are living proof of that, right here right now
  2. Congratulations. You quoted an actual real life fact.
  3. I fix. I help.
  4. I don't think anyone could debate it if you were actually able to post times of these "better 400m runners"
  5. Who are these runners? names and best times in 2012 please.
  6. For someone that likes to portray himself as a practitioner of logic rather than emotion I should point out to you that repeating the same untruth over and over does not make it any truer... he qualified under pre-existing rules by achieving the B qualifying time and being selcted as a member of the relay team.... Emotional arguments on unfair advantage aside his selection was more than vindicated since, as an eligible athelete as per the global body, he was selected and performed well enough to makie the semi-finals! That would be the pinacle of many an athelete's career. Anyway, that aside I agree he has scored a huge own-goal by protesting the other guys blades AFTER losing to him... Not very clever and he lost a lot of global goodwill. That said maybe this is the birth of a serious rivalry that will see public interest in para-sports outside of the olympics so could also be a case of no publicity is bad publicity...

Was nice meeting you Prozac. You were looking strong at the start was surprised when we saw you a little later again. I was quite enjoying the pace of that smallish group we had there when I ate tarmac.
  8. Man alive I hear you. OK by the sounds if it the extent of your injury was way more than mine so I pity you - actually cannot believe how sore this thing is since late afternoon yesterday... is that normal - ie about a day later? Anyway I abandoned the spray and now after a second opinion have applied tagaderm(?) second skin type dressings - seems more effective at keepin everying in - though still oosing out the sides! Lovely stuff. Here's the damage after the race but before all the oosing started
  9. Thanks - yep that makes sense - was wondering about that cos if pads are over the bar on my road bike on my current setup I would be stretched out well beyond what I could comfortably manage for 3 hours +
  10. 13. I came off in yesterday's D2D... Pharmicist recommended that second skin spray (not sure the brand). Problem is its not exactly preventing the area from oozing.... So i have an indiscreet oosy wet patch on my upper right thigh pants leg! Did I do it wrong or is that expected. Reading above looks like maybe I need to get me some "jelonet"...
  14. Aha memories! So who has been up the pole at Barnacles??
  15. Any pointers on clip on tri bars? Where and what to get, any things to avoid? approx price etc?
  16. As good a reason as any I can think of to visit Kimberly... I have some work to do... been to the Pig, the Firemans Arms and De Akker... still to get to Perseverance Tavern, Radium Beerhall or the Star of the West in Kimberly...

To try find a positive I would call my day "character building". My water bottle came 90% out of its rear bottle cage on one of those bumps... As it dangled precariously I tried to retrieve it but instead it somehow found its way first between the chain and the wheel and then fully in the wheel - cue a shudder followed by a lock up and me sliding along the tarmac at an unpleasant speed. My mate ruined his race as well by stopping with me - in so doing we missed the b bunch who came by while I was still trying to get myself together and he then proceeded to drag me along for the next 20km or so until C caught us in the cradle. Then my real fun began! I found my rear shifting getting progressively worse until on that last short steep climb in the cradle the rear derailleur cable snapped altogether! So now I was stuck in the 11 tooth at the back! The rest of the ride was quite literally a grind (and at times a walk). Anyway, all that said I came close to quitting - but glad I didn't. Limped home in about a 3.35
  18. fair point, and that it is and too true, yes we do....
