  1. Sure - I hear you. I guess the point is to first see if it is competitive without any rewards, if so there is presumably only upside. We've been on diamond for years and certainly do very well out of the rest of the Vitality rewards between cash back, travel discounts etc...
  2. I also tried the app while it was open to non Discovery insure clients and found that on my regular route to work there is a stretch of road the app sees a speed limit of 40kph and it should be 60 - so I got nailed for that. I also noticed that each time I used an onramp onto a highway the app said I was speeding excessively... Now I did my licence a long time ago, but seem to recall you are supposed to get up to speed so you can safely merge with traffic already up to speed on the freeway...? Their maps seem to have the limit at 60 right up to where the onramp joins the freeway. People who actually drive like this cause chaos on the freeway. Based on these 2 issues (and if I'm honest, the fact that I sometimes do have a heavy right foot) I decided I would be penalised too much if I joined discovery insure...?
  3. I am over 15000 long ago but still getting all my points on active rewards (linked via Garmin connect) - so that is not the issue. My wife is well below the 15000 limit, but links via strava and is currently not getting active vitality points.... Yup, its good that they have so many options to link in but this probably adds a bunch of complexity too...
  4. I've linked active rewards direct to Garmin connect and points seem to come through no problem, but my wife is linked to Strava - and points seem to come through very sporadically... Worked initially, then there was nothing for 2 weeks - I delinked and re-linked then all came through - now nothing again for 2 weeks... Anyone else having this issue?
  5. I got R160 back on my latest discovery card statement, but as always just says Teamvitality cashback so not sure if this was for the duathlon or another event (did the satellite classic and I think that may also have qualified for cash back). Would be nice if Disco would add event detail when they give the cash back - or even better offer an online report so you can keep track...
  6. Hey Myles - if you can, can you clarify a couple of things... I gather that the watch rebate amounts etc are based on a particular version of the watch. If you want to go for something a bit more expensive does the rebate then increase or how does that work? Also, is it true that you are limited to one watch per family. Then, re the additional flight discounts... I booked flights through vitality for the whole family in March 2016 a couple of months ago... Presumably then from 1 Jan the 5% discount per goal achieved will apply to these flights until the date we actually fly? and is this then applied just to my own flight for my own goals, and to my wife's flight for her goals - or how does this work... ?
  7. Flip - that is rather cool.. potentially. I guess considering you can now get 3000 points on a long ride, the attractiveness of this is going to depend on how reasonable the goals themselves are...
  8. Correct, if you are a Team Vitality member (running or cycling)
  9. I think they have just introduced that now - last week my target was 2100 points (!), the week before it was 2000. This week a more sane 1200...
  10. So, a lot of people doing the Johnson Crane as a qualifier I see... Any other good fast options between then and the end Feb (deadline for Oceans)... The only other one I see is Pick n Pay, but I've done the half before and recall it being quite hilly

\ did you actually watch the US GP? great racing Who is this "they". the hat thing was quite something actually - rosberg really made himself look very very small. Hardly surprising the media have made a lot about this - same would have happened in any sport if someone behaved in that way.
  13. Booo... that's not a trick! OK, to declare my interest - always said I will never do comrades as I have seen how people break themselves doing it... But, I have entered 2Oceans, and thinking, maybe just maybe if that goes well, I will roll on and do Comrades as well... Should have a good base and enough time to recover?
  14. https://www.discovery.co.za/portal/individual/vitality-team-vitality-race-calendar They only have races up to Dec listed - not all provide cash back - look for those that either say 25% or 50%....
  15. Trick one, is awesome - going to use that What's trick 2?
  16. Yep did a little research and gather Club100 wanted a sponsorship (so wanted to keep their Club100 identity), and Vitality wanted a takeover... Fair enough for both parties, but pity from my point of view as the club100 rides are really convenient for me... Will be interesting to see what they set up in terms of group rides...
  17. I hadn't heard this - did a bunch of rides with club 100 a few months back and 80% of the guys had migrated to vitality kit etc... As for value - for me definitely - definitely paid for the membership fees by now - and more to come - will get 50% bak on this weekend duathlon, 50% on 94.7 entry etc. Plus have enjoyed their hospitality at a number of races I've done this year.

No way was there going to be a VW engine of any sort or badged whichever way ready for 2016. Unless you know of some skunkworks project that is very well underway?

VW were never going to supply them in 2016 regardless... Anyone year Horner responding to Eddie Jordan's comments during quali about his backtracking to Renault - quite funny all round - but just a tad defensive I'd say.

I am worried about you - what darkness resides in your subconscious that would leave you mixing up Porsche and Peugeot!??

I'm not so sure. Sainz also said he has let Verstappen through 3 or 4 times and Verstappen has refused to let Sainz past more than once... What this reflects is quite simply the one has a 3 year contract and the other has nothing past the end of this year...

Interesting, but some pretty dumb comments below that article... Regardless, anyone who genuinely thinks that Senna would have turned down a Williams drive had Macca gone with Lamborgini is sorely mistaken. At that time everyone wanted a Williams seat - especially Senna. Anyway, back to today would be fantastic to see VW group jump in and I am sure it would be Audi badging on the engines. That said there is some risk in playing catch up as Honda have shown - so risky for VW/Audi and perhaps more so for Redbull... Its not like McLaren Honda didn't have a very good ring to it before it all went pear this year...

His win in 2012 such a strange anomaly... A bit like Japan beating the boks. Although, maybe I am being unfair to Japan here...

Was great to see Lotus on the podium, even if due to Vettel's popping tyre*. Really hope this is enough to tip Renault towards buying the team once again as a factory outfit. Failing that I think we could see the end of both Lotus and Renault in any form in F1... * On the tyre issue, did you see Vettel talking to the press after the race - the boy was not happy and I don't blame him. As he said if this had happened a couple of hundred metres earlier he would not have been standing there to talk about it. Same for Rosberg. And the suggestion by Pirelli that the tyre had too many laps under its belt is a red herring.
