  1. Ali Mclean: quick response and positive outlook GO: I know there are times that fighting just doesn't seem worth the energy wasted, but they must realize, had you been someone else or a taxi... well, let's just say that people have killed for less !! History has shown us that humans are creatures of habit. I wonder if they would be at the same place at the same time next week !!!
  2. You think too much ... for a Western Caper but then again ... you might have a point !!
  3. no matter what make you like or ride... you have to be jealous. If it rides as good as it looks ... many km's of fun to you... well done.
  4. In a zoo in California , a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth. The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly started to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into a depression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve. After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce to the mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment. Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species. The only orphans" that could be found quickly, were a litter of weanling pigs. The zoo keepers and vets wrapped the piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger. Would they become cubs or pork chops? Take a look...you won't believe your eyes!! Now, please tell me one more time.......... why can't the rest of the world get along?

  8. Does that cycling thing of yours weigh 40 kilos ?!@#$% Never mind my hat, I take my clothes off to you !! I have resized the pics to 2450 X 1850. The pics are still large, but file size has shrunk a bit. E-mail on it's way to you
  9. Are you in the Randburg area? I could just zip these 2 pics to you on a mem stick.
  10. There will be a practice and dyno day, at Kyalami, on the 16th or 17th of Feb. There will be air cooled bikes there as they also race with us. This would be the best place to view and test these. Our first race is 24th Feb
  11. Hi rad006 Yes, I race, but we race at the larger kart tracks (kyalami, Vereeniging, Bloem and East London). We race the European bikes that are watercoooled, rev to 16 000 and do about 100km/h. The track at Northgate wasn't managed well, but I hear rumours that they might be starting something on the roof at Northgate. The air cooled bikes are much more fun and less maintenance. PM me when you are looking at buying a bike, I am in Bromhof and can show you a few of the options.
  12. @ Rad, , thumbs up on the number plate !! I can e-mail these if you want. Size is 1.4 mb each. And no, I did not take these while cycling, a mate of mine did. (while driving a car )
  13. ... I suppose lol
  14. copperslip works wonders, use it on my cars' wheel bolts as well. Available at Midas, Autozone etc
  15. I have 10 spd HG with campy grp and works like a dream (I also wouldn't know better, still new at this) I can say that it changes gears perfectly and is smooth.
  16. Now I know why you guys want your women on a bike. After reading this link, I better get my wife a bike too !! http://www.bicycling.co.za/articles/maiden_voyagers/2536
  17. Thanx for the replies. I did look at the CS 400, because of the trainer planning etc. I was just worried about the reliability of the wireless. I have read that people get interferance from cars and power lines. Apparently the CS600 is reliable in that department. I also like the egde, hence my confusion. The post I read about the edge being better for MTB... the person said that the cs600 was better for training, but liked the GPS feature for off road tracking... but didn't like battery life... This is like buying a cell phone... features... battery life... size...
  18. Hi All I am new to this sport and at my age, aint trying to win any medals. I don't THINK I need a power meter (i think) Basically, I would like to get fit. (struggling to get out my driveway). Had a bike accident 2 years ago and lost a lot of muscle while the leg was in cast etc. I am looking for a system to help me with my training, but not sure what my needs are. I have read (a person's opinion) that the edge is only worthwhile if on a MTB. I have tried to do a search on this topic, but there are one or two posts, then the flaming starts on which is more accurate etc. I am even more undecided now. I am a bit of a gadget freak and enjoy playing around with these. From your opinion, which of these would you recommend (or another unit), that would satisfy my needs. For the time being (until I get a unit), how should I train? Go out every second day and give it what I got? Thanx
