  2. sorry, one more before I go, couldn't resist ...
  3. Do you ride sh1tmano? Sorry goto go...
  4. Hey, this looks exactly like Rad006's trike. We can get him to pilot... I agree the law is hard at times, BUT, that's the last thing on my mind when my life is in danger. Rather alive in court, than dead on the side of the road. These mothers are after easy targets, but they will start to realize that we can fight back. This way they might leave us alone and go after easier targets... president's houses
  5. I was thinking you should move the lighter fork over... Awesome looking bike you got. Enjoy.
  6. I dunno if this falls into the same department, but this guy has some skills. A quick 8 sec movie.
  7. ...take me to your leader Spar...
  8. Velo, Tim Tams.... mmmmmm those are great. The wife's aunt has just landed for 2 weeks and brought some more again. They just don't last...
  9. Riccardo, that's they way I looked at it. To be honest, he was my broker from my insurance but I wasn't claiming from my insurance (that might have been different). I think is was just easier or whatever to just let THEM pay as they were at fault
  10. I also use MS Paint. I have found (most of the times) that if I open it in paint and then use "save as" it saves a smaller file than original. That is without resizing. I only resize if it's too large to view, but use the "save as" if it's the file size that's too large
  11. Here is a pic of the other 1. Same color and same rear triangle
  12. I was interested in the one on the hub (JHB), and asked some people. 1 person didn't have info on that model. 2 praised it and one person owned one and thoroughly enjoyed it. I asked why did he sell it then, and he admitted he wanted to keep up with the Jones family. Carbon, design, bling etc. I was about to buy it and found out it was a large.
  13. Have you got their details? Contact etc
  14. The reason I asked, is that I was rear ended (in a car) years ago, and was paid out with a cheque, by the other party. Before I had the chance to have the car repaired, I was rear ended again, and was paid out a second time. I did tell my broker (who was liaising with the other party, that the car was damaged before and he said it didn't matter. The train of thought, the way I got it, was: Whether the car was damaged or not, it would have been damaged once the second guy hit me anyway. I did not worry as I walked away with a R7000 payment for myself in 1997. I thought the same would happen in the "Pantani" situation. Even if the bike was broken or not, it shouldn't make a difference. Reason 1: If they stole a broken bike, they would definitely have stolen it if it was in perfect condition. Reason 2: The frame could have been repaired.
  15. Let's say Pantani, breaks the bike in a race and the insurance wont pay, He brings it home and goes on holiday. Some previously disadvantaged cycler slucks the broken bike for it's groupset and zipps... now what? do they pay?
  16. to say: if you wanna go, go, get the hell out of here and don't look back, don't call yourself an ex pat etc is a bit harsh. Come on guys, Saffa G is asking for some opinions, he is in a "cross roads" position at the moment. Give the guy a break and don't need to be so harsh. My father came from overseas as he believed he could do more here for himself and create a better future for his kids. He kept on telling us how he wished he was back home, but there was no future there for us. Later in his life, he fell ill, and returned back home to die and be buried there, AT HOME. I now know what he sacrificed for us, and I am now going to do the same for my kids. I am also in the process of leaving. Not for financial reasons, as we have always made a plan, budgeted a bit tighter etc. The one main reason I want out of here is "LIFE IS WORTH NOTHING". That's it. You could be killed at any time for ANYTHING, and I can't live with that. I can't live with the fact that my children might have to grow up without me or me without them. I am going to sacrifice and miss this place, but I will do it for my children. To those that say I am a kuk patriot, so be it. That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. But you should get to know me before you do any judging. I will go and shout for the SA teams, and one day when my kids are older and out the house, I will come back to die and be buried here, as this will always be HOME. I know of many people who have moved from CT to JHB and the other way around. WHY, the opportunity was better. In other words the grass was greener. Most people I know (and people on this hub) have moved provinces for better pastures!! It is not that different to those that want same, but in another country. I was told by a friend that he would shake my hand the day that I climb on the plane as I have balls. My response was, I will shake your hand because I am leaving for a better future etc, maybe even because it's the easier route, either way, I believe you have balls to stay. In other words, he respects me leaving and I respect him staying. Us hubbers, should all feel the same about each other. I respect those that have left, those that want to leave and those that are staying, you all have your reasons and that is enough for me. Lastly, I left my parents house when I got married and went on my own. The one thing that was made clear... This will always be your house and you are always welcome back. I would like to feel the same about this lovely country of ours...
  17. Zaskar, great pics and for uploading them all. Coming from a tar road to a bit of loose sand at the edge of the road and then onto brick paving and these lean angles ... respect...
  18. Maybe I need some of this stuff instead of carbo loading... Pocketbikes2008-05-05 15:50:03
  19. Hi Bee, don't you use gloves? , or was this pic from stage 4 and you were so tired you forgot to put them back on
  20. Harryn, thanx for going out of your way. Sorry, had to go fetch the kids, but back now andrew at pocketbikes dot coza
  21. Does anyone have the fitting instructions for the Time RXS pedals in PDF or any other format? I have been to http://www.time-sport.com/pdf/not/rxs.pdf , but it's in French Thanx
  22. I am going to take a stab in the dark here... It should use the fork oil that we use on motorbikes. They come in different viscosity or weight. 2.5, 5, 7.5 and I think 10 as well. I would not know what weight the MTB would use. I do have about 900ml of SAE 2.5 fork fluid that you can have, if it's the right weight. I needed it to repair a steering damper that was leaking, and it was the smallest I could find.
  23. Hagar, Hagar... when I met you, you had this warmth about you. I now read this post that started before I even met you !! Seriously, you ARE the man. Give yourself a good pat on the back, cause you really deserve it. To all the HUBBERS that helped in any way (including those that wanted, but couldn't), well done. You guys have really shown, that in numbers, you can do great things. I am sorry that I was not part of this thread any earlier, BUT, I can be part of the maintenance. Hagar, if there is anything that she may need, now or in the future, please pm or call me. Is there still the shortfall that I can donate to now?
