  1. Trapped, well done for coming here to post your side. It couldn't have been easy, after reading everything that was said about you The part that got me worked up, was the taking of the keys. As someone mentioned earlier, what if she was mugged while stranded. Someone did the same to me in a bad part of Pretoria, and I honestly feared for my life and my belongings (judging by the surrounding area and people). If you guys really feared for your life, why not stop for a minute or two or turn around and cycle another way? Going for someones keys, while on a bike is endangering your own life. Secondly: You say The incident was in Weltevreden Park, which falls under Honedew Police station. Is the statement above, the reason you went to Fairlands? Look, I don't know who started it, and probably will never find out. Both parties will be biased in their statements and we have not heard from a neutral third party. I just think their were safer and less "arrogant" ways to go about it.
  2. You would've got the bird, got told to f off and most probably had your keys taken. Isn't that the norm with cyclists these days?
  3. ONEWAY, invite your friends to read this thread and defend themselves. Like I said in Skye's thread, these people are like criminals and pick on the weak. I bet you they wouldn't have done that if it was a big bloke behind the wheel! Chickensh*ts, I tell you. To take her keys... they are lucky it wasn't my wife. My keys are my property, you have no right to take them, it's theft. Those that know my wife can ask her what happened to the last bloke that switched my ignition off and took the keys... 4. HR, the wife says it's raining cats and dogs (and plenty of poodles everywhere). She wanted to leave work, but reckons visibility is poor. ie: We might have a nice dirty mud fight this weekend
  5. HR, you can add myself and the wife for the chow. add SignGirl (chow as well, I think) to the ride.
  6. Nancy, I'm sure we can organize your sister a bike! I see that SignGirl (Sandi) hasn't been online since end September. I will give her a shout and see if she wants to join again. (just sent an e-mail to SignGirl with a link to here) Rad006, you still suffering from whiplash? Pocketbikes2008-10-20 02:01:16
  7. Why not use the go-kart track, it's just on a kilo long? We have ridden there at night with our pocketbikes (to see if the lighting was good enough for a night race). The lights are suspect for 70-80 km/h racing, but should be good enough for us. Here is a pic of the track with a bit of text taken from http://www.kart.co.za/zwartkops/index.htm The circuit is just over 1000m long and a minimum of eight metres wide. The start/finish line is on the 180m-long 10m wide main straight, and is 90m before the first corner. The first two corners are 12m wide to reduce first lap congestion. A unique feature of the new circuit is the Bridgestone Flyover, where the circuit actually crosses over itself. The sloping terrain of Zwartkops lends itself to great spectator viewing points and promises the drivers a challenging roller coaster ride
  8. I haven't received anything yet, must be starting at 11:00 or something
  9. Skye, I feel for you. Whether they were right or wrong, to reply with those words (at a female nogal) is blatant disrespect. I have a paintball gun I can post to you for a while. I really would've lost my cool. I am the tiniest person you've met... with a temper of a pitbull. I am sure they wouldn.t have had such hard words if it was a big guy in the car. They are like criminlas, they pick on the weak and unarmed...
  10. ...and I thought the male cyclists were on my side... I can bring my wife again
  11. I think she doesn't want me going out anymore, so she sat on it
  12. My dog took my leg out from under me and my knee, or something, twisted when I collapsed.
  13. Parking at PMD Transport will always be fine, according to my buddy. The drivers were shocked to see "so many fools up early, in the cold to ride in the dirt". They were happy that their trucks could come and go and the place was left as we found it (no litter etc) Alright, I am in. Just don't know if I will be able to cycle or not. If I can't, I will follow on motorized 2 wheels or a quad and be the photographer.
  14. I thought four legs might be better than two
  15. Auris, I would give my left nut away for a CB 1100 R. Haven't seen a pic of one of those for a long time.
  16. Luckily I can run better than I can cycle
  17. Good words DV. I haven't ridden the spruit as much as some, but I have seen good manners. Hog and I even chatted to a lady about her dog and then a horse came past. All smiles and greatings.
  18. We raced our pocketbikes there and we were really welcomed by the Border Karting people (We even got decent trophies). We raced on the shorter track and everyone really enjoyed themselves (we would, we had 17% extra power thanx to altitude). The weather was great, the people were freindly and the accomodation (The Castle) was more than pleasant. All in all, we have good momories of the track and East London and were looking forward to going again next year. Here are some of our memories: The trophies Just on 14 meters long. Part of the pits with the sea in the background. Some racing... Some repairs... More repairs...
  19. I was going to ask the same thing for the Amashova, but then realized these toothpicks aren't going to take it
  20. Give EM your rations
  21. I want to lie, but I can't. I had Luigi's Pizza my mom always told me to pic my friends wisely
  22. Most people know I am as poor as a churchmouse and do very little buying unless it's really needed. I have never bought from CWC although I still remember them being in Rondebosch, near the Pig 'n Whistle, years ago, as a kid. I have read the last 19 pages (as education) and have really taken note of everyone's point of view. Some people here know the law and one can learn from it. The 2 points that I feel I HAVE to mention are: 1:
  23. ok, lets give it a try... Jay looks like one of those guys that eat razor blades to scratch their throat, but then he looks like a teddy bear when he smiles ok guys, free for all... hit me with what you got
  24. I didn't mean it in a bad way , and if I said you had a warm smile I would have Mampara, HR, TNT1 and Sammajoor making coments
