  1. 3 Confirmed and coming 2 Not confirmed, waiting for answers from their employers.
  2. Perfect. They don't need the "elite" ones, they just need to be visible as they are traveling at low speeds. The cyclists can also identify them this way. The only problem is that none of my friends are small. Oh well, see what you can organize and they can see what fits when we are there. I am just waiting to find out how many more marshals they need. Thanx SP
  3. SP: Do you have, or can you get some marshal vests. I have just spoken to Frikkie Ellis (some of the older riders might recognize the name), he used to cycle and is very willing to marshal. Organizers: How many more marshals would you need? I could round up about 4 or 5 more bikes if need be. I never offered any money compensation, I just offered free coffee and a free entry into the Merc draw.
  4. I'll do it too, not a problem. (whisper) Do you guys need a support bus
  5. I am with Tjokkits and the rest that like the Caddy. Plenty space and accessibility, which is important as well. The question is price and what you need. The Caddy costs more than most of the cars mentioned, but you get more space and sliding doors. A sliding door gives much more "open area" to load than doors. I am thinking of selling the Vito and looked at the Caddy and Touran. Your other decision is petrol or diesel. If you buy new, you would have to travel many km's to cover the extra cost of purchasing a diesel. If you buy second hand and can get a diesel at a good price, then you will save on the fuel. I personally prefer diesel because of it's driving characteristics.
  6. ND and DB, not a problem. I really don't mind, as the guys can then drink to their hearts content with a dedicated driver.
  7. DB and ND, the bus can go through Cresta then Parkhurst if you would like
  8. Someone's got my back... thanx Nancy
  9. ouch...
  10. Can I join, can I join...pleeeaaase mtbking and HR, thanks for organizing. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the Spruit and Groenies etc, but there is just something about the dumps. Any date and time is fine for me. I did it on four wheels, with 2 kids the last time, a little scary over the railway bridge (too heavy to carry) 1)I have got place for 3 people and 3 bikes. Can pick anyone up between Randburg and Benoni. SP, you in? 2)Spoke to a buddy who has a large yard in Golden Drive (just off the highway). He has offered us secure parking, if we can't fit all the cars in HR's pad.
  11. My outlaws are from Camara de Lobos, my father is from Canico and my mom from Faja de Ovelha. Me, I was made there, born here
  12. Hey Yang, some great pics. You bring back some memories... The pic with the "sardines", is that at the Lido? The beaches at Porto Santo look great, never been there. To those that don't know, most of the beaches in Madeira have stones, not sand.
  13. To ND and DD, well done. Yang, you better look us up for a ride before the 94.7. I haven't spoken porra for ages!!
  14. Walked out the other day, and in my neighbors yard is a yellow MTN Audi. Run over to see what I can "steal", and there's Siphisa, AKA Skizo with his team manager etc. They called on my neighbor (www.parisgraphix.co.za) to do the artwork and airbrushing of his helmet. I only sat there for 5 mins, but you would never say you were chatting with a champion. There was no "I want.." it was"Is it possible if you can...". He is such a nice kid to speak to. So... no pressure SKIZO, we wish you the best The pic of the helmet is here with some feedback from Beijing http://www.bmxsa.co.za Pocketbikes2008-08-18 14:53:33

  16. ... ya, if you eat dog food Sorry to hear you can't make it, Wolverine
  17. Classic That was my Friday funnies. Had a good laugh, thanks
  18. Sorry Hog, Been out the whole day. 7:45am is perfect. I think we will be at the other end before 9:30am. Spoke to SP, and they will be leaving Linden and going to Delta Park, so we know the route they are taking. Pocketbikes2008-08-15 10:50:01
  19. Morning Hog. I'm in on the Paulshof side. Are we meeting and parking at the M & B? Anyone else?
  20. I like the idea of that seat post ring. It will definitely help, but it's also useful if you have to keep taking your seat off to fit the bike in the car. Just fit the seat post in till the ring seats with the frame and tighten the post's clamp, it will work like a depth gauge.
  21. I can just picture WW pulling into Mercedes, on the 12th, kitted out in lycra and all, asking for a cuppa coffee... amongst all the suites and ties.
  22. Sorted... Gary says with pleasure. As long as he is invited to the coffee afterwards...
  23. My wife laughed at me for not riding it, but I am still here today. I chose not to ride it, and that's that. If you choose to ride it, do it at your own risk. Don't blame anyone else. MintSauce said it right, take responsibility. Engineering??? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to build a see-saw. I had a look at how they built it as I wanted to build one to put next to it. It was to be a bit wider and with "hand rails" on either side, for safety. This way, one had the option to do the Macho, the Woosie, and the river cross. Any, back to my point... whoever built that see-saw, did a good job in my opinion. The bearings were of the sealed type and way larger than needed for this application. The units were (when I had a look 3 weeks ago) in perfect condition with no rust, so I don't think that they malfunctioned. The only explanation can be that he rode up the see-saw too slow and then fell off before before he reached the pivot point. I have seen someone come off, just after the pivot point, but due to his speed and hight, still landed on the other side.
