  1. 100%. Its interesting to me...as an entry level coffee drinker even I know that the roasting date is important. Royal has a website which has a lot of detail on each beans characteristics, lots of different options in terms of variety, and then don't include something "basic" like the roasting date. I should probably send them an email rather than complaining online haha Edited: I have now sent them a message suggesting they add the roasting date
  2. Nah, not these bags. In fact I don't think any of the 250g bags I've received from them has ever had a date block or space for the date on them.
  3. Howsit, I was referring to Royal Coffee Roasters, not you guys. Sorry... My quoting wasn't very clear. I know your bags always have the roasting date on them

So frikken happy for the guy. Awesome
  5. Ordered from them on Friday... Delivered this morning. Great service. Just wish the bags had a roasting date on them
  6. From what I understand you can convert as many as you want, they just don't want you using more than one in a single shop. So basically trying to limit the discount to R100 per purchase
  7. So I noticed this and got angry at Discovery for changing the rules yet again (you also can't use more than one in a single shop which also annoyed me). But, this week when I actually selected the Dischem voucher it came through as R100 as normal. (Only used one)
  8. If you're in the market for a new Smart Watch you could also check out the COROS Pace 2. Running watch with power (which seems very close to Stryd) with no need for additional pods etc. https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2020/09/coros-pace-2-in-depth-review-multisport-running-power.html its an interesting option if running power is what you are looking for

    Munga Grit

Thanks. Looks like we won't have time to get out there this weekend but they are definitely on my list. Quiet district roads sounds like a dream.

If you look at the Komoot detail on the surfaces you'll see its mainly gravel with some tarred sections inbetween. I don;t think on a km basis its mainly tarred though. Perhaps 50/50 Not sure how they get to their summary Look at the bar right at the bottom of the pic. Brown=gravel Grey=road

Thinking of doing the ±170km JHB mini munga in a couple weeks time but probably starting from Bidon (so perhaps only ±150km). Has anyone done these routes? Wondering what they are like in terms of safety. There will be 2-3 of us but I haven't ridden all of those roads before. Also, in terms of grabbing more water along the way. I can see we pass close to Magaliesburg iteslf but that's pretty early in the ride...anything else anyone knows of? This is the route I'm referring to: https://www.komoot.com/tour/233113791/zoom
  14. Yup, also got a packet as a gift once. Disappointing
  15. Not sure if anyone recommended Royal Coffee Roasters in Greenstone. R60/250g - free delivery for orders over R400. I'm really enjoying their Indonesia Sumatra beans at the moment but they have a wide range

Flip what an insane crash in motogp. I am so thankful none of the riders were badly hurt. Crashes in moto2 and motogp and in both cycling races currently on. Seems like a bad weekend to keep the rubber side down and on two wheels!

  21. Very true, and very much appreciated. I would certainly rather hear them here and have a chance to consider them fully rather than stumbling into them on the other side once its too late. In terms of other realities, do you guys ever feel like the NZ economy suffers from being a bit small and far away from everything?
  22. Thats terrible. We are very much in a similar position. We have *2 dogs and 2 cats (so basically the people least likely to be able to rent a house ever.) One of each of those is 9 years old right now so the thought of the strain on them of moving is definitely on my mind. *Those exclude another 2 dogs that my wife's parents have indicated they would take but I can't see this happening in reality. So yes....we have 6 animals at the moment. No, I would never consider trying to bring all 6 across. I couldn't afford to get them there nevermind the rental issues etc. once there
  23. Thanks Steven. Definitely something my wife and I need to have a hard conversation about
  24. Thanks. I completely understand the rational argument. And I'm with you on moving to a new city (and country!), finding a rental, etc. As hard as it would be to leave them behind I could come to terms with it if we were able to find good homes for them. However, my wife would never let that happen. In her mind there are two options (1) animals come with (2) animals are too sick/old to come with and so we have to put them down. She won't leave SA without them...I know everyone loves their pets but my wife takes it to a different level (I know we aren't snowflakes and everyone probably feels that way).
  25. Doesn't sound cruel to me if they went to good homes as opposed to be put in a shelter. It sounds like an easy decision "I'll never leave my pets behind, they are coming with" but in reality its more complicated than that. Two of our dogs are around 9years old already so getting on...it definitely raises the question of taking them over at that later stage in their lives with stress etc. But it will take alot for my wife to get to the point of leaving them. Just one of the challenges on the way.
