  1. great frame, had two, got one for sale in raw carbon. bullet proof.
  2. the ciocc is the fondriest domina carb mould from 3 years agao...
  3. Check out TISO - very cool
  4. I've got a taurine, and i'm an absolute mtb rookie. Got it because i was getting a system six and a cannondale tandem, a little OC i agree... Love the taurine and lefty combo, light stiff and great to steer. Just bought my business partner a caffiene and a lefty upfront, cause i loved the ride of the taurine so much...did sani2c on it and if it wasn't for the two crashes...what a pleasure. Gave me so much confidence...thing i found with mtb's is tyres are as big a decision as the bike. Cannondale is brilliant IMO. Taurine is reasonable as a full carbon as it's made in China...the caffiene is Handmade in the USA.
  5. Thought you guys would be interested, Don't think Crux has one of these... http://www.probike.be/article.php3?id_article=421 Enjoy.
  6. I've ridden them all...equip, impact and rxs. Never a days trouble (even from the recall). Maybe check your shoes out...looks like they've got teeth underneath, those pedals look way used, worse than my RXS Carbon bought this Jan.
  7. I've had no problems with any of the AM sets we ride. 8 sets in total, road 420's and mtb 26. Brilliant wheel...i'd buy em again.
  8. He's old, EPO is old and Lance (RIP) is all old news, so another teamate of Armstrong falls...who cares. There are guys like Ricco attacking, Cunego battling, Valverde cracking...brilliant, brilliant, brilliant (doping or not, the racing is great) Bring on week 2...that's news.
  9. Carbon Freak, Valverde is listed in the puerto affair, a small piece that the spanish sports ministry has 'forgotten'. He's a young guy who won a stage...but you have a wicked sense of humour. No riders in the tour use drugs.... why would they?!
  10. Craven, your successes are appreciated and admired. I will question your logic on the amatuer / pro issue. The Olympics until rcently were an amatuer only event. This does not mean that the best athletes do not take part, only those that see it as an objective. If SA is not capable of riding for a leader or Rob is not the man to do the job in China is he the best athlete, I don't think so, so don't send him. Waste of his time and Our money. Take Golf...players move through the amatuer ranks, competeing against the pro's until they themselves are able to turn Pro. As for the Drug issue, let's not open a door to that discussion. You of all will know how quickly that will turn to 17 pages. Good Luck with your career, I watch with enthusiasm.
  11. Here lies the reason the olympics should have and always should be an amatuer only event...money in sport. Gone are the days where you earn enough to maybe cover you for an injury, now guys like Renaldo can retire after two months of football! I say take the Pro's out of the Olympics, let them win the Tour and Fill their pockets. Let the amatuers use the Olympics to showcase their Talent and then Turn Pro to get the big BUCKS
  12. Great weekend for SA cycling. Young Rabie wins Red Jersey in Canada and Rob takes stage 4 in Portugal...
  13. Wow, R24,000. That's more than a new set of Bora's or fulcrum speeds or ... well just about everything other than lightweights. (comparing prices with international websites obviously) so I'm sure they're quite normal by SA Deep Section terms. Interested to see how the feel on the road clincher vs. tubular vs. tubeless. Choices Choices Choices.
  14. Guys are paying min R20k for wheels! So I think they will pay it for super record. Ceramic bearings, 11 speed etc. The 11 speed will be for top three groups, I assume Super record, Record and Chorus. Very Exciting!
  15. CARBON = SALES They all want sales! I want 11 speed, hope the thinner chain can handle it! I trust campag though.
  16. Check out the new Dura ace under Cycling News . Com tech. Really great looking, gone for carbon levers and rear der. cage! Something they said they'd never do. Set looks awesome though! Great for us buyers...Super Record, Dura Ace and SRAM Red. Me I want the new Record cause the old one is just so damn good...Lance Armstrong sure he'd want the Dura Ace!
  17. 11 speed just offers a complete ratio with no breaks in the gear range. I'd wait for 11 speed. 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,21,23. That's cool the 18 on a 11-23 is brilliant. It combines the benifits of a 12-23 and an 11-21. That's my opinion!
  18. wicked looking wheels, concept seems solid...stiff, light, should be responsive. Where's the Lefty Front Wheel Pricing said $1000! Not bad just like a Mavic SLR.
  19. Price vs Performance like anything relates to numerous factors. a 7K set of Wheels vs a R33K set of Lightweights could come from numerous things ie how the carbon/resin is laid, r&d in the rim design, spokes hubs and bearings. Campagnolo spend a fortune on design an R&D for their Bora's past on to Fulcrum for their Racing Speed's much like Zipp passing on the non dimpled rim to competitors as they return on their investment. The 'cheaper' (R7K is still not cheap) wheels tend to come from the factories in the east that use old moulds from component companies that have allowed the factory to market their expired design as a new brand. Nothing wrong with the cheaper wheelset, just not as advanced as the newer branded version. Lightweights, you'll never understand until you've ridden them. R33K to steep for my pocket, but if I had the cash, you'd have to cut them outta my hands!
  20. Hi there DFM1 I think you meant something standard and common like a Trek or Cervelo. Those bikes are like spotting sweets in a candy store they are everywhere. Not that they are bad, just everywhere. Cannondales are awesome bikes, I've just switched over to a systemsix - Brilliant. This is from riding Italian bikes all my life...if you go American / Canadian go Cannondale it's worth it.
  21. All good here Chunky, Doing a bit more MTBing now but I'm sure I'll be back racing road soon. Trying to drag Johan vd Berg out from hiding! Chat soon.
  22. Chunky, your knowledge never fails to impress me. Hope you are well.
  23. They have barred Astana for all races belonging to ASO this year, they have indicated that they will watch Astan in 2008 with a view to an invite to their races in 2009. They are blaming 2 years of damage to the tour de france. Contador is involved in the Puerto affair, Kloden in the Telekom / T-Mobile systematic doping, Levi with the whole US Postal Landis, Hamilton, Heras and Lance(did he or didn't he?) thing...there is no way ASO will take a chance on a further tainted tour. Way to risky. I say bugger the politics let's hope for a brilliant races where they sprint on the flats, suffer in the TT's and attack like crazy on the climbs...viva le tour.
