  6. I was in Boksburg store a week or two back looking around while the wife was in shop next door. There was this gentle man who had just purchased a new Scott Spark and was waiting for them to set it up. anyways he left saying he would come back, not a second after he walked out the staff were laughing at how they had ripped him off with customers still standing there ? A stupid beginner freind of mine bought a scott road bike from them, on his first ride with me i notice the brake calipers dont sit on the rim, end of the ride i tried to adjust them but they just wouldnt go down far enough to cath rim. again long story short the tyres were trashed from the brake pads so he atakes bike back, about 5 days later gets told that it was scotts fault and would be replaced but 2 weeks later i think he is still waiting for his bike

  16. Flex after 15 years im still trying to figure them out, we have the same problem with airfreight cargo. Customs officials will just walk through the warehouses and detain goods for no apparent reason other than they feel like it and they have the right to
  17. No problem, gald i could help
  18. To throw it out there, a CHUMBA
  19. Not strict at all, hardly ever have COO issues up here. It amazes me how each office has different procedures, what works in JHB dont work in DBN and is different for CPT aswell
  20. Rock im just trying to help out fellow hubbers The Cape Town market is all yours though
  21. From past experiance, yes when they detain it for a formal clearance its best to go through a clearing agent. Will probably leave you with some hair in your head. But you can go try at the mail centre, maybe there is another option i dont know about. Or call them and see what they say, ill always back the easiest option Please guys take note though that if you are doing a formal clearance and you have jerseys and helmets and gloves and other items that attract duty you are going to pay the duty, you wont get away with it. So be prepared to kack en betaal
  22. Back in the day it used to be any goods over the value of R500 but the Customs act stipulates that all goods entering the SA should be declared to customs and duty vat be collected upon. The post office does this for you hence you paying your vat amount directly to them, the ones im busy with have been grabbed by customs officials looking through incoming mail and randomly checking. I think its luck of the draw at the moment and probably falls more to size of you box than to value of your goods You probably find that there is a new person in charge at mail centre and has up the game a little and that in time things will calm down again
  23. No as EMS are the carrier If they need a formal clearance you will have to take the SARS release notification to mail centre and pay i think R25 handling and they will give you your parcel
