This is for you techies.. My question is regarding carbon cranksets..Are the crankarms entirely made from carbon or is it alu wrapped with carbon? The arm that is attached to the chainrings with the spider (5 arms), is the spider also entirely made from carbon? Trying to work out which (alu or carbon) is actually stronger.. Thx
JB, does that mean i'm skating on thin ice here with the 2 bolt Easton EA70 stem I have put on my BMC? I don't think EA70 qualifies as weight weenie stuff but is it a proper, strong stem? I looked at the KCNC Fly Ride which was cheaper but somehow I didn't trust it and decided to go with easton... Regards
Is this frame the same as the Schwinn Peloton Pro or the Schwinn Peloton LTD (High modulous) frame? Awesome bike! I seriously considered buying the same frame but since it is an economic recession I settled for a much cheaper BMC Streetfire SSX alu frame..maybe oneday i'll also ride a plastic bike and planet X is definately good value for money...
Jealous? Nope...They are playing on uncle afbob's stoep. Traffic was hectic this morning and cars coming that short downhill hoerkj?nd vir hom all the way to the 4 way stop.. That section particular has no wide shoulder and they were blocking the cars. Lots of trucks who drive like maniacs. Please just be safe guys and always try and "think car". Not every motorist sitting behind you is a cyclist and as understanding as I am. I hope I never have to be the ou phoning your loved ones if you are run over.

I agree with JB. JB, remember we had this same discussion when I collected my road wheels.. I used Continental Sportcontact 1.3's on the mtb and the wheels run so much smoother than nobblies on tar. Then I started to run out of gears due to the ratio of say 44/11 compared to a roadbike with 53/12 combination. I'm currently building up a roadbike slowly. The effect of lower weight with gearing suited much more for road riding and not torque required fo r mtb'ing will make you a lot faster. I did the Bakwena superclassic last year on the mtb with slicks and although this is flat and fast route I could just not keep up with the guys with similiar fitness levels on their roadbikes.
I ordered my groupset from them in December, delivery took around 10 workdays before the Post Office courier delivered in my hands. Just remember to have the cash on you when you have to pay the courier the VAT, they don't phone you before hand to arrange a delivery time they just rock up at your place..
