  1. Then I went to explore a bit at Woodhill in Auckland west coast...where even the up rides are just single track Mess up at this narrrrrrrow section and it's a 2.5m drop op down Was quite different to be riding in a forest and still hear the sea....
  2. Today was a great day, stated with riding the route I'll commute from work (well close by) to my new house...
  3. Rostie capabilities? AC power or battery? Edit: no worries, I can use google...haha (almost became a typical hubber)
  4. For sure as soon as I have my BBQ and a few chairs... hahaha (and actually moved in - which is only after the 27th). Any advice about okay-ish BBQ/grillers around?
  5. I only have to buy a fridge (and tv) for the place I am moving into, the rest are there already (well whiteware wise). Edit: Hence why I am going to buy a wine chiller too....
  6. Yip, and Panasonic stuff (tv's etc) and other things Edot: Oh and I see Haier things too. On the TVs topic, I have always been a Samsung fan (no REAL reason), but I must say those new Sony's with android capabilities has caught my attention...I am gong to buy one.
  7. Just got these.... (please don't phone me at work)
  8. Whahahaha....Mr and Mrs Potgieter and I spoke about this last night...due to our high rent we pay in Auckland we can not afford avo's though, so we are not sporting the black market... #glasshalffull
  9. Seems I am getting my 1st visitor from SA in next month......ja, totally unexpected that I am missed already (and it isn't even a family member...hehehe) I am thinking of flying my sis over for December break time, I do not know how my parents will feel about not having both of us there for Christmas though, last year was my 1st ever Christmas not spent at home and it was tough on them, so that my mom cooked a whole Christmas lunch for me now in April when I was there for the last time (Christmas serviettes and all ). This weekend I am doing no 'admin' things, just riding and exploring the parks and beaches etc etc.
  10. If N will be okay with it and Ramrod want our help tomorrow eve we can maybe pop in to help after collecting my car..... he is up north as far as I know..... Ramrod how far are you from Chadswood?

  13. At work we have about 40 of these if not more (this is in my Pod's kitchen) .. And 15 of these. .. Pod = one open plan office There's plenty of Pods in one building.
  14. Wow, what a week. In have to keep remind myself this is only my 2nd weekend here. I have my bank account sorted. Have my IRD / TAX nr done. I have found a place and started moving things in. Started work on Tuesday and stated assembling test rig already and into a design for a chute for a quality part on a moulding machine. Love my colleagues, got invited to dinner etc already. Got my drivers licence in the week, I'm 100% sure I got put through in the eye test (I could only see 2 columns etc). Found a car, signed the contract today and waiting for it to go to the warrenty company (should get it on Tuesday ish). Had dinners, coffees and meet ups with a few on here already. I've become the spare wheel in the Potgieters family. Haha I'm still enjoying the spoils from living in the hotel. Went for my 1st run today. Want to ride tomorrow again (I'll do a trip into the city harbour if it rains, if nice I'll go to the tails). Did I say I'm loving it yet? !!
  15. Getting settled in in NZ
  16. The same that's wrong with sa butter....hard to spread hence I preferred Butro
  17. Anyone found something similar to Butro here?
  18. Comings weeks weather in Auckland looks better than predicted last week. ... Saturday looks like a nice riding day #justsaying (If it's good weather and I have a car sorted that I want to buy before then then I'm spending the whole day on the saddle "doing loops"... excited) I feel so bad regarding not being able to get to all the dinner plans etc, I blame exhaustion due to shopping. Luckily I could spend some time with the Potgieters before that really started (awesome kids those!) and nightrider showed me some trails in 'my-right-eye' It was awesome. Can't wait to get to know those ! Flip sooooo much too do but all the organising to settle in is taking quite a bit of time.

  23. Went house viewing per bicycle today (again) just to make sure the places I'm looking at is within commuting range....one sees SOOO much more too on a bike and realise the contures of the earth. ..
  24. Not a plane, not superman, .... it's a bird....
