Winner of C got 3:36 and I finished with 3:38. Still managed a top 10 in the group at least.

I was in C an it appeared to be a decent bunch. A few Stars in training riders weaving around erratically but no more so than usual... I managed to stay in the top 10/15 riders for 110kms and then got swallowed by the climbers over Vissershoek for the last couple of km's, albeit in a decent time. Rain was hectic at times but not too much carnage in a generally well organised bunch. Think Bike Marshall did an awesome job patrolling the white line and getting passing traffic to slow up.

Tried the new 32GI accelerate for the 99er this morning and was very impressed. Also tastes great which always helps.

Perhaps consider the Hope Race X2 as an alternative. I have been very very impressed with them and very light

I have a set of Fulcrum Racing Zero wheels with a shimano free body. Question: Would this free body work on a Campy Bora wheel? Can't seem to get a definitive answer on Google. Cheers, JD

If tyres are important to you, then decide the week before the event when you have a semi-accurate weather report. I did last years on Specialized fastrack 2bliss with no issues whatsoever.

You could get away with a set of those rubber cane creek bar ends, they not too obtrusive. Very useful to offer different hand positions in stage races, even on a 29er!

You would look elsewhere because Malan/Heino and Leon from Cycle Addiction offer superb service at an honest price tine after time.

Why? Cycle Addiction is awesome for servicing and very honest and well priced. I do agree though that Fred is a nice guy.

Santa Cruz Tallboy deserves serious consideration. So good on so many fronts.

I'm running Dura Ace 7900. Can't really comment on Ultegra as I haven't ridden any of the newer stuff, but in my experience Dura Ace 7900 is quieter, smoother and shifts way better than SRAM Red. I woudl suspect the only diffence between Ultegra and Dura Ace would be a weight differential.

Shouldn't have any issues tar MAC. The ratio is a little wider at the easier end of the cassette but you are normally on a steep climb at this point so will not cause you any problems. I run 11-28.

The Wannabee club have marked out four routes joining all the wine farms between Longridge and Stellenzicht (You can access from either side). They are free to use and all I can tell you is that the Black route is a bitch.
