  1. Good answer as always Christie! I am not too hung up on a few grams of frame weight and have found the ride characteristics of the Dogma to be exceptional. However having owned a good few top end bikes myself, I have to agree that it is not about the bike.
  2. Aah Christie, your posts are generally high quality, but you have consistently slated Pinarello. What's the problem?
  3. Check out www.wannabteam.com . The local Somerset West cycling club catering for both Road and Mtb, numerous rides every week for different speed/skill/fitness levels.
  4. It shows the trail with two (I think) of your chosen data items, however you can easily toggle to your normal screens with the buttons on the left hand side of the device.
  5. You don't need the maps, IMO navigation in a race is better without a map. The edge 500 & 510 provides a breadcrumb trail to follow the course that works really well.
  6. Probably because they are using the Wannabees trail for the 50km
  7. Lance I suggest you wait until Friday and then post for a Hub group donation to buy them all pizza and beer.
  8. Great post RR. Look forward to further biking adventures.
  9. And the absolute worst of all CEY = Strand
  10. This would have been a great Friday post...
  11. No issue for them. Might be a different story if he was wearing his ABSA cape epic cap though!
  12. Title sponsorship runs into the millions for W2W, Sani, Joberg2C and Epic

    Trucape MTB 50km

You tell that to the kids of today and they won't believe ya...
  14. We need you boys back next year. The OM chill zone wasn't the same without you!
  15. Edge 500 worked perfectly. You need to load the routes using Garmin Connect as opposed to directly on to the device, but it was very easy to do and as mentioned above there were people at registration to help.
  16. Hey Dips, I rode with a new partner who was a bit slower than Dirk but we had a blast. No saddle sores this year!
  17. It really wasnt an issue provided you had the courses loaded up beforehand to your GPS. I rode with a Garmin Edge 500 and it beeped the few times I went off course and it was pretty easy to get back on course. On some of the stages where there were a lot of turns and non obvious routes, there were still route arrows to mark the way. It certainly does not detract from the experience and I wouldn't let it put you off.
  18. It was Joberg2c, not the Epic buddy. This type of help is encouraged!
  19. It was indeed. We were spoilt with the route and the hospitality. Shower, massage, bikewash and beer!
  20. There were quite a few other events yesterday. I did the PWC mtb challenge out at Paul Cluver.
  21. All over. Decisive breakaway from Terpstra
  22. What a breakaway! Terspstra
  23. Getting a lot closer now. Some big riders, with a chance
  24. Looks like it could be an easy win for Cancellara. Looking strong
  25. Boonen vs Cancellara. Going to be a sensational finish
