  1. Wheels. Not tyres. 😁
  2. Cape Cycle Systems are the agents / importers last time I heard. They mostly sell on takealot direct but most bike shops are able to buy from CCS.
  3. Cool. I am in Pretoria. DM me with address and we work from there
  4. I'll have one for you. Whereabouts in the world are you?
  5. If I can get pictures of that,.....TAKE MY MONEY......... 😁
  6. The 1050 has been rumored for the past 5 months.........they were suppose to launch in April if I remember correctly. Horrible timing for you. I am currently looking at a new Varia. But there are rumors of the new one to be launched for the past 5 months now......so I am holding out to see what is what......... Hopefully soon
  7. Jip. Just subscribed now for July. TdF here we come!
  8. The INTEREST on £13m is a lot to spend! 🤑 I think though "worth" 13bar vs "have" 13bar are two different concepts. That said, interest rate of 8% from the bank with 45% tax gives you R1m interest after tax every month. Mind bending serious money
  9. All firmware updated I assume?
  10. I've had mine for over 10 years now across 3 bikes. So long term worth it. But yes, eye watering expensive these days.
  11. Arundel Mandible. Best cage I have ever had. And most of your bottles fit well. Elite Fly. Camelback podium
  12. I'll gladly pay a premium if I can hook up easily (considering I am IT stupid) and watch TdF, Giro, monuments, XCO. My guess would be they skinny wheels are only limited at the moment becuase DSTV has godly rights again.
  13. Not a bad day on the bike
  14. But then the question comes in why only one out of my four bibs and not all of them equally. I have 4 bibs rotating every ride. So perhaps sweat does play a role together with the issue of not washing it the same day?
  15. Also had some bibs going see-through at the crack. Do the whole "careful" washing thing......Liquid soap, no enzymes, short cycle etc. Still happened. But not to all of the bibs. Happed to an old one (one years' use, used twice per week) and a fairly new bib used for like a month. Same brand, I do have a theory though......... Getting a puncture and the white stuff sprays on the bib............surely the ammoniac and chemicals will mess up the bib? But like I said.........just a theory.......
  16. 29er. For sure. Gravel bike: Les maintenance cost (no shocks). Rolls faster on road and typical farm roads. MTB: Little bit more maintenance on front shock service. Not as fast as GB but more comfortable. Long term....what is your mission with the bike? What will you be doing 80% of the time with the bike? Just training in the neighborhood? Race local MTB race once a year? This will help you decide what you need. I am 1.83. My bikes are all medium. MTB is a large.
  17. Get something cheap and nasty. I got an old 820 unit for free from a friend that the battery is shot. But for an hour ride here and there, it still works perfectly fine with the varia and serves its purpose
  18. Best thing I have read on this forum in a very long time. 👏
  19. But therein lies a crux where the 80/20 rule comes to play........ If you as organiser cater for the 20% hardcore-I-can-ride-everything-the-rest-of-you-are-pussies riders then they will only attract 20% of the fees and the event will die a slow death. No? That is where I believe we need a GOVERNING AUTHORITY that can host RACES for the racers. The hard core mountainbiker that doesn't care if a rock hits his bike and is not afraid to leave their family to fend for themselves when they have to eat through a straw in ICU. The rest of us can then partake in the vanilla stuff build for enjoyment and easy-going riding. Is that not why, globally, there are XCO events that the hardcore boys do and then there are sportives that the rest do? In SA the hardcore boys and the sportive rider both have to do the same event and not one of them are usually happy about it. But seeing that private organisers are hosting and organising, the focus will always be driven by profit. I.e. the more attendees, the more income. So the question will always be what attracts 80% of the people. My 2c
  20. I think the ones that were won was done on 1x systems
  21. Bike 24 has individual pricing. If I want to replace only the shifters and the derailleur on my bike, R40k give or take. That is a lot of moola in the greater scheme of things. Not doubt though, they will sell a lot of these things.
  22. But with your 0.5 component, you also receive 500x better performance and ride quality. But only those who know will know. I suspect you dont know what you think you know you know......
