  1. Running 44 with a 11-34 at the back
  2. 2 Years now I have moved away from the "Buy your seeding from CSA" ego **** suckered by age cat riders that has R1k to waste per year. This social rider still enjoys his races. Seed me on ability or just leave it.
  3. Loosen the two screws on the Garmin mount. Turn correct as required. Drill two new holes. Tighten again
  4. I was wondering the exact same thing! Maybe a bit moer toe after having done the Giro? (Like MvdP was last year?)
  5. I think you are on the right track. Secondhand. Try the bike out. Go for a couple of rides. See if you like it. Rim brakes will work just FINE. Frame material will also not be a huge consideration on your first bike. Get something cheap. Figure out if you like it. If you do, flog it for the same value and then look at the latest and greatest.
  6. How will seeding work? Or is it "I pay CSA money for a license and get auto seeding because I am old" type events?
  7. Dont doubt you. I doubt the organization. No one says you, or anyone is getting anything. But someone is. Millions. With ZERO visibility. Show us that statements. Easy. Visible.
  8. Well. The financials were published previously and we had an opportunity to see what goes where. This is no longer the case and the thought of "cloak and dagger" comes to mind. But maybe that is just me, living in South Africa, expecting the worse.
  9. Perhaps you won't mind sharing the GPX file or Strava link with us? Would like to see.
  10. Over the past 20 winters in Pretoria with anything from -6 I have had only 2 gloves that work in those temps. Assos Fugu Assos Ultraz. No other gloves work is serious cold that I could find.
  11. Avg temp per week taken from my avg temp per ride plotted over 52 weeks in a year. Green line is current 2023 Blue line is avg per week over the past 10 years. Long story short, we have another 8 weeks of cold before temps will start to rise again.
  12. I have an issue with this part............ To promote cycling as a SPORT.....like in Europe and USA for instance...... Surely you have to have it for Elite level only? Involving amateurs (us) will mean that there will NOT be full road closure (because we take the whole day to finish a 100km route). Just not practical. So CSA takes a couple of races that already exist, already have organizers, already have sponsors and logistics etc, band them together and call it their series. WTF................
  13. I've taken my lefty to https://www.cogentindustries.co.za/ They are in Garsfontein, Pretoria. Very knowledgeable and helpful and service was done in 2 days.
  14. That team edition is a work of art! Build that with all the prettiness and then take the time on the SI6
  15. I've got the MT8 on my own bike now for nearly a year. They work PERFECT. Modulation is amazing. Much, much better than the XTR I had on there previously. Not that the XTR were bad in any way...... Can't really give you feedback on very HARD braking as I tend to be on the conservative side when it comes to risking my ass on the trails. But the Wines2Whales was a pleasure riding them. So by so that my partner immediately went and bought a set coming back from that weekend
  16. From what I have seen, pretty much on par with Shimano brakes. Sometimes a little cheaper. I am going to roll the dice on an MT4 set pretty soon for the Mrs to replace het Guide brakes.
  17. Sunday chill at Rosemary Hill with the Mrs.
  18. Pretoria Gravel routes out North to Rooiwal
  19. A little piece of me died out on the road this morning..............
  20. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Grapgat. Government.......OUR government,,,,,,,,,,, GIVE you something. BHAHAHAHAHHHA. Good one.
  21. Talk about bad luck.........Conti SUV tyres on the Q5. 6 punctures in 4 tyres. Small, very thin thorns. Looks like Bougainvillea little thorns. And I drive only in town.
  22. Very rim specific. Even tyre specific also. Conti on my Zipp 404 went on okay, pumped up with a normal pump. The Goodyear F1's went on easier and I used my pump with a reservoir to get it to kick onto the rim. But I have read people battle a LOT with getting Continental TR onto the rim. Braking levers etc.
  23. Well..........talking from experience..... 4mm glass cut in a tubeless tyre or tubed tyre, for me, is a throw away. I won't take the risk either way.
  24. Good question. I'll have to find out.
