  1. SV looks like no one can help, maybe you should look at donating that Epic entry to a needy team, like maybe Trackie and myself........
  2. I was told its the other way round, fast cadence recruits more slow twitch, slow cadence more fast twitch. Slow twitch take longer to fatigue that why you can only sprint for 10sec!!!!Cos you are using fast twitch. It take a long time to "teach" your legs to spin. Spinning vs Grinding - the power you see on your SRM is the same its the torque that will be lower when you spin, if you dont believe me test for yourself and download into Training Peaks and look at hub or crank torque. Higher torque means more fast twitch recruitment.
  3. only if you have knees like an ostrich, maybe you mean same vertical plane.....
  4. That why you sleep in them
  5. I wear the socks to work, then sleep in the tights.
  6. the length of interval you are doing is too short for HR to be of any use. It takes your heart up to 3 min to stabilise so any interval under that is virtually imposible to do based on HR alone. RPE maybe.... Get a powermeter, 1 min @ 500w on 200w off is easy to control with a powermeter.
  7. Why do you say that ?? A longer lever needs less force to move an object, so its easier to push 180's not harder. The pedalling circle increases and as such your knee joint now opens and closes in a wider range. I used 200mm craqnks for 10 years and had no problems at all. Rode the pursuit on the track at 105rpm cadence so spinning them is not a problem either. I only changed back to 180's as I put SRM's on and that is the longest they make, and I wanted to do the bunch races on the track, requiring movement up the banking, which may have been a problem on the 200's Got a set of 200mm Zinn cranks for sale now !!!
  8. I just dont have the Time to Look for another fraMe, so 'll keep what I have
  9. I got a mail saying the champs have been moved to 2 to 4 Oct, same venue. I too will be there !!!!

  11. We went to just north of Roslyn in PTA yesterday for a Karate comp. The car temp showed 39DEg from sitting the sun and got down to 36 when driving !!! was cooking inside the hall.
  12. Hey J, how R U + other J, How is the weather there, just been watchin some Winter olympics from Vancouver
  13. At 97 kg NO you wont master the hills !! I am taller, by a small bit, than you and my fighting weight is 82kg, 5% body fat, and I still get left behind on the hils. Choose your races carefully, Race the flat ones and train on the hilly ones.
  14. Pepermint oil, the pansies at the track use it when warming up. Supposed to open the nasal passages, sort of like sniffing one of those Vicks things. Funny thing is that when exercising you breath almost exclusively (99.99999%) through your mouth ...... The best use for a Nose Flare is when you are sleeping, then having your nose a bit more open will allow you to breath easier.obree2010-02-14 04:38:57
  15. Just take a MTB stem and flip it over
  16. try this
  17. it already slopes down !! turn it around and you'll see it slope up. You want one that slopes down even more. Guys use them on track bikes.
  18. The further away from the hub you move the lower the torque, but higher the speed. So you need more force to stop a smaller disc than a bigger one. But the bigger one is going faster. Look at a wheel magnet, does the same revolutions if it is placed at the hub or at the nipple.
  19. I'm gonna get all my Harley mates to ride that route on their harleys this sunday, take up the whole road, reving their hogs. Tattoos and rings everywhere!! Not one single motorist will say a word !! The will just calmly drive behind them !!!
  20. I got a mail informing me of this event, then asked CGC to put out a list of persons getting awards, so we could decide wheter to go or not. Nothing received to date, so we did not go.
