  1. I'm with Covie on this, the Ikon's are not made for tubeless. Took me hours to get them to seat on my Haven UST wheels. I have 8 haven wheels in total and all of them always take with just a floor pump. I had to bomb the kuk out of them to finally seat, and to be honest, I like running about 1.8bar and they don't corner well as the sidewall is too soft.
  2. no, keep your scott, and ride the kuk out of it. Or cut your losses and buy a naainer or 2nd hand dual-26er in similar condition.. some box will be trying to sell his zula or similar bike for peanuts because he wants an "Epic" like all his chommies.
  3. @Mayhem - off topic, but I don't know how a fugly-guy like you got such a hot wife and gorgeous baby...
  4. Please listen to your cuzzie TheV. Keep it, ride it like you stole it. Sell it for R4.5k and forget about it forever. Convert it into a SS and ride the kuk out of it. DONT STRIP IT UP!!!
  5. The risk you run with selling the components is that you end up with a bunch of stuff you can't sell. It's not a tapered forks, it's also QR forks and hubs, it's not 2012 deore components, it's still 2011, the saddle, stem and bar's are real nasty scott issued components. This is a really nice bike, much nicer than the sum of it's parts... don't strip it, you won't get close to 4.5k for the components and will end up with heap of spares and a sore butt.
  6. Size is not in your favor, medium is most common in SA, and it's not a small/xs which is a niche size someone would be looking out for. Every oke who is 1.8m tall and in the market for an entry level bike will be told by his "mates" that he should be getting a NAAINER... so you are really out of luck on this one, sorry.
  7. Hi Martin, It's actually a really nice bike - we have one of them in our "portfolio", ours is an extra small size, so it was really good starter bike for my son moving up from 20". What size is yours? My personal view is that you wont get more than 4.5k for this, it's just the reality/fact that it's a second hand 26" bike. It's not an entry spec or high range spec/price, it's right at a premium end of hardtail-off-the-shelf budget bike fitted with decent components. Just sell it for 4-5k and forget about it.

    THABA TRAILS

Thaba has such a wide variety of trails, you ride at your own level, something for beginners and family, to massive drops, rocks and downhills.... some gradual climbs, and some short technical climbs you cannot imagine someone could ever ride up...
  9. No, you cant mix sram shifters with shimano rear mechs, the actuation (indexing) is different. Besides, its gay to mix.

    THABA TRAILS

I'm told the secret to selling parts is to avoid selling the ones you really need...selling your body parts might affect your cycling, just saying... That being said, you SS okes might as well sell your brains.... Not used much, gears are too complicated? Giggle

    THABA TRAILS

LOL @ Iron, you are always late to the Party? We ride Thaba atleast 2 or 3 times a week. Don't know which trails you were riding, but I'm willing to bet you still only did 30-40% of the available track... Wendell is the man! Thaba is SUPER AWESOME!!!!!
  12. My wife beats me worse than that for just leaving the toilet seat up...
  13. LOL, I would hardly classify that as an "assault". The one squeals like a girl while the oke roughs him up by sticking his fingers in his mount? Should forget about anger management classes and rather get some boxing lessons.
  14. You obviously know nothing about bikes and if I had to meet someone like you in the street id'd give you a P-K.
  15. So, I finally got round to upgrading my SB-66 from SRAM XX to SHIMANO XT. Now my SB-66 is PERFECTLY COMPLETE!!, the way it should be!!! Total upgrade includes full XT Groupset, with i-Spec Shifters and Ice-Tech 180's...also includes a couple of blue (common) blue accents and a "sticker"...
  16. Then it was great deal!
  17. I think thats the standard "practice" flea-market mentality in SA. It's only kept under control by internet shops and good competition. I think the problem is just as much with the consumer as it is with the shops. Imo, the shop with most accurate and realistic ticket prices have always been linden cycles.... you wont ever get more than 5% discount unless you really push your luck.
  18. Don't know if I missed something, but did you say what bike you have? Maybe a better suspension might be a good investment? +1 for Easton Haven Wheels, and all the other components.... Easton Haven = XT = FOX .... all in the same class...
  19. You can have my FULL SRAM XX Groupset in exchange for your "holiday"? Just stripped it OFF my SB-66, don't know what I was thinking... Replaced it with SHIMANO XT!!!!!
  20. You can only DOWNGRADE from XT...
  21. Does the carbon undervest come with a free 6-pack of abs as shown in the picture?
  22. Maybe just take your bar ends off and use that for Schecks....
  23. No one can argue that Wiggo has not done/been tactically and strategically perfect. He deserves the win! I agree it might not be the most aggressive or entertaining Win, but never the less he's has been undoubtably... unbeatable this year.
  24. Don't be so grumpy! Easy on the Tuna.
